Content provided by the employer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer, with at least 5 years experience in a similar role, to join our SaaS organisation, developing automation, integration, reporting and operational capabilities across our technology ecosystem.

The role sits at the intersection of Power Platform development, DevOps, SaaS operations, data engineering and API integration. The successful candidate will build solutions that reduce manual operational activity, improve service visibility, integrate enterprise platforms and provide actionable operational intelligence.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong Power Platform expertise together with scripting, SQL, REST API and infrastructure automation skills.

Key Responsibilities

Power Platform & Automation

  • Design, develop and support solutions using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Build production-grade Power Automate workflows for operational and business process automation.
  • Integrate Power Automate with internal and external platforms using REST APIs, custom connectors and authenticated API calls.
  • Develop reusable automation components and integration patterns.
  • Troubleshoot failed workflows, API interactions and automation dependencies.
  • Apply appropriate source control, testing, deployment and lifecycle-management practices.

Power BI & Data

  • Design and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports and dashboards.
  • Use the Power BI REST API to automate administration, reporting, refresh and integration activities.
  • Develop data extraction and transformation processes using T-SQL and Python.
  • Combine data from operational SaaS platforms and APIs to provide service, operational and management reporting.
  • Develop appropriate data models, measures and transformations to support scalable reporting.

Desirable Experience

  • API & Systems Integration: Designing REST API integrations with JIRA, ServiceNow, Salesforce and OpsRamp.
  • Python & PowerShell: Building secure, resilient automation for APIs, data, administration, reporting and scheduled workflows.
  • Ansible & Infrastructure Automation: Building production-ready Ansible automation integrated with Power Platform, Python, PowerShell and APIs.
  • DevOps & Source Control: Managing automation through Git, peer review, CI/CD, documentation and audit controls.

SaaS / Operational Mindset

We are particularly looking for someone who understands that production automation must be engineered as a service, not simply written as a script.

The successful candidate will:

  • Automate repetitive operational activity.
  • Engineer for reliability and recoverability.
  • Understand the production impact of failed workflows.
  • Prefer reusable APIs and automation components over manual processes.
  • Design with security and least privilege in mind.
  • Identify opportunities for systemic automation rather than repeatedly solving individual operational incidents.

Candidate Profile

  • You will be a strong fit if you are a developer who enjoys connecting systems together.
  • You should be equally comfortable building a Power Automate workflow, querying data with T-SQL, consuming an API with Python, writing a PowerShell automation, triggering Ansible automation and investigating the resulting service behaviour in Dynatrace.
  • This breadth is important. The role requires someone capable of understanding an operational requirement end-to-end and selecting the most appropriate technology rather than attempting to solve every requirement with Power Platform alone.
