In Consumer Marketing, we bring that mission to life by transforming how customers discover, compare, and buy our brands on the web. We are seeking a strategic Director, Digital Experience to lead the Web UX Digital Strategy & Design with a growth mindset to own the end to end consumer web strategy for our Devices or copilot businesses. This leader defines the overall web experience, leveraging customer research, traffic data, and experimentation to deliver awareness, consideration, and retailer handoff for Microsoft’s consumer brands. The ideal candidate combines product thinking, storytelling, and data fluency, and can orchestrate cross functional teams to deliver business objectives using web strategies.



Responsibilities

Web strategy authorship: Set the web strategy across consumer brands, including goals, narratives, and the path to measurable business impact across 20+ locales. Convert this to an annual initiative roadmap that sequences tools, experiments, and content to support business goals.

Lead web launches: Own the end-to-end web experience for product and feature releases, setting vision, success metrics, and the operating model with measurable business outcomes. Use web insights to shape product. Convert customer behavior data into upstream influence on product roadmaps, positioning, and naming.

Influence leaders and partners: Deliver executive-ready narratives that connect web insights to investment choices and inform quarterly and seasonal decisions. Champion the customer experience. Make principled decisions that protect clarity, accessibility, and trust even when doing so requires short-term tradeoffs.

Orchestrate web verticals: Act as the strategy hub across organic search and answer engine optimization, content strategy, design, development, delivery, and experimentation to land a single prioritized plan for Devices or copilot businesses. 

Design the consumer-commercial cross-journey: Define wayfinding, eligibility rules, and handoffs that route customers to the right path without confusion or duplication.

Apply AI to accelerate web results: Identify opportunities to use AI for personalization and workflow acceleration.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 5+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 6+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 8+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Social Science, Computer Science, Information Technology Communications, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 12+ years experience in retail, customer service, ecommerce, data science, research, marketing or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years experience in go to market (GTM), marketing strategy, business planning, or similar roles.
  • 7+ years experience in integrated, digital or product marketing management.
  • 4+ years project/vendor management experience.
  • Deep understanding of information architecture, page strategy, funnels, attribution, and Core Web Vitals. Ability to define success measures, conduct experiments, and use insights to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional collaboration across design, engineering, analytics, and retail stakeholders.
  • Experience applying AI to support content scaling, recommendations, or workflow optimization within established governance frameworks.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and support informed decision-making with executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience managing creative, design, development, and marketing technology partners to deliver marketing solutions.
  • Skilled at developing outcome-based Statements of Work (SOWs) and managing vendor deliverables related to quality, timeliness, and business outcomes.
  • Experience supporting a multi-brand or multi-category device portfolio across global markets and locales, including right-to-left (RTL) languages.
  • Experience collaborating with agencies and systems integrators to pilot new approaches and support innovation aligned with business objectives.
  • Experience working in agile environments and supporting scaled content operations.

 

 

 



eCommerce IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
