Summary
Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas quickly become great products, services, and customer experiences. Bring passion and dedication to your job and there’s no telling what you could accomplish! The ASE Compliance organization has an immediate opening for a compliance automation engineer to help build and grow a global cloud services governance, risk management and compliance program, ensuring we meet our legal and regulatory obligations, while safeguarding the systems that millions of our users rely on every day. This is a hands-on role where you will build tools in partnership with ASE compliance engineers to solve Apple’s unique compliance problems at scale.
Description
The ASE Compliance engineering organization provides compliance support to the Services product teams (e.g. App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, AppleTV+) as well as Apple’s internal cloud platform. As a compliance automation engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing automation opportunities to streamline core compliance processes and driving down audit risk. This is a highly collaborative role that requires close partnership with both the compliance engineers and the broader ASE engineering organization in order to build solutions that can operate at Apple’s enormous scale. We are a small team with a big opportunity and we’re looking for motivated engineers who are able to own their end-to-end development process and take an incremental, modular approach to building large-scale, long-term solutions in a high-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Engage compliance engineers to identify operational inefficiencies and propose automation solutions to streamline compliance operations or reduce audit risk.
Build, deliver, and maintain full-stack compliance engineering solutions related to compliance inventory management, control monitoring, alerting and remediation processes, compliance lifecycle management, and other compliance processes, as needed.
Aggressively explore and pursue opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence to reduce manual effort and audit risk.
Participate in ASE engineering technical design and governance discussions that may have compliance implications.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing software or automation
Strong software development skills in Python, Java, or Scala. Our code base is primarily Python, so the ability to understand and support Python is required.
Ability to solicit requirements from end users and design software solutions to address those requirements using modern architectural practices
Track record of delivering automation solutions, ideally to address security or compliance problems
Understanding of modern SDLC processes and tools and the ability to build an end-to-end SDLC pipeline in order to reliably deploy and manage software solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leveraging emerging AI technologies or strong commitment to learn
Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and work on multiple unrelated topics in any given week
Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with different teams at all levels and across functions relative to technical, policy, and business concerns
Computer science or engineering degree is helpful, but not required.
