Description

The Worldwide Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) team is looking for an experienced leader to drive a portfolio of projects with direct impact on Apple’s Supply and Demand Planning capabilities. This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection supply chain and cutting-edge technology — shaping how Apple plans, allocates, and delivers products to customers globally. This role operates at the center of Apple’s global planning ecosystem — spanning all Finished Goods products across every geography, including Demand Forecasting, Supply Planning, Customer Allocations, Supply Quotes/Commits, and the critical connection points into Channel Fulfillment, Logistics, Materials Planning, and Factory Planning. The leader will partner closely with WW SDM Senior Leadership to define strategic priorities and multi-year capability roadmaps, lead the execution of a portfolio of high impact project, while ensuring Customer Experience, Operations Strategies, Product Roadmaps and New Product Introduction are carefully considered for their impact on existing planning processes and tools.

The ideal candidate is a champion for AI-driven innovation — leading the rethinking of Supply and Demand planning processes end-to-end, with a vision for how AI can augment and automate planning processes. The goal is not incremental improvement, but transformational re-engineering of how Apple plans. Success requires a leader who thinks strategically — connecting the dots of the bigger picture — while remaining equally comfortable in the details of key deliverables and portfolio execution. This leader will guide, coach, and empower the team to strive for excellence across the project portfolio, while demonstrating the values of WW Operations BPR.

The WW BPR SDM Portfolio Leader owns the capability roadmap and end-to-end execution of a portfolio of projects driving transformation across Apple’s Supply and Demand planning processes. This role carries full accountability for the complete project lifecycle — from business case development and strategic prioritization through execution, change management, and post-implementation review. The portfolio works closely with Global Planning, Cross Functional Operations and Technical teams. The leader serves as the BPR escalation point for WW Operations BPR for SDM and is a contributing member of the WW BPR Leadership staff.

Responsibilities

Partner with WW Operations Senior Leadership (VP and Senior Directors/Directors) to establish strategies, priorities, and portfolio execution — influencing and shaping business strategy as informed by process and systems transformation opportunities.
Define and manage complex multi-year technical capability roadmaps for all areas related to Apple’s Supply and Demand Planning, including connection points into other upstream and downstream processes.
Provide functional subject matter expertise and thought leadership in Supply/Demand Management, leveraging industry trends, best practices, and innovative technology.
Champion the end-to-end rethinking of Supply and Demand planning processes through the application of Artificial Intelligence — with a clear vision for how AI agents can absorb planning complexity, enabling planners to focus their expertise on high-value decision making. Inspire the team, cross-functional stakeholders, and planning communities to move boldly toward this future.
Provide oversight and leadership for business case development, ROI estimation, executive funding approval, and full portfolio accountability for CapEx budget management, technical team resource allocations, timeline, and scope.
Build and lead a high-performing team of managers and individual contributors through mentoring, coaching, and a commitment to growth and development.
Act as a contributing member of the WW BPR Leadership staff, attending and leading updates during staff meetings and contributing to WW BPR strategy and multi-year roadmap.
Act as a liaison between functional operations teams and technical partners including Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics to design and deliver comprehensive solutions to the business.
Manage complex business processes across multiple functions — especially between Supply and Demand Management — applying analytical rigor to rationalize, prioritize, and drive process changes that enable accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
Oversee project roll-out, training, and post-mortem activities across the portfolio, ensuring lessons learned are captured and drive continuous improvement.
Drive change management with conviction — influencing decisions and inspiring adoption through collaboration, leadership, and a relentless focus on the customer, while implementing new ideas effectively within the Apple culture.
Address escalations; quickly assess and develop root cause analysis and problem resolution for operational issues.
Define and implement critical metrics to measure portfolio and team member success.

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS Degree plus 10-15+ years relevant experience in supply chain, engineering, or related field.
15+ years of progressive experience with minimum of 10+ years of leadership experience responsible for global supply chain transformation, preferably in high-tech / consumer electronics industries.
Deep and broad expertise in Finished Goods Supply and Demand Planning, Logistics Planning, and corresponding systems and processes.
Strong functional knowledge of Demand Forecasting, Supply Planning, Customer Allocation, and Available to Promise, with an understanding of how product roadmaps and New Product Introduction impact existing planning processes and tools.
Proven experience defining and managing multi-year technical capability roadmaps across complex, global operations domains.
Consistent track record of leading strategic programs combined with the ability to execute at tactical project-level activities and tasks.
Strong functional understanding of systems infrastructure and data integration design required to support supply and demand planning at scale.
Familiarity with Optimization, Machine Learning, and other analytical models applied within Supply Chain planning environments.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels — from operational teams to VP and Senior Director stakeholders — adapting style based on the audience.
Experience managing Capital Expenditure, team resource allocations, and complex project schedules against prioritized portfolio investments.
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate global teams simultaneously across multiple efforts; leads through empowerment and influence in a fast-paced, international environment.
A forward-thinking perspective on the role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming supply and demand planning; able to articulate and champion AI opportunities to teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Operates at the deepest level of detail while communicating with clarity and confidence at any level of the organization — from planner to executive.
Is innately curious — constantly questioning the status quo and seeking to understand the “why” behind every process, constraint, and decision.
Has the courage to take a contrarian stance when the data and their conviction call for it, and the credibility to bring others along.
Shapes ideas from the ground up — synthesizing complex inputs across functions and translating them into a clear, compelling point of view.
Influences without authority, leveraging deep relationships and trust across the organization to enrich ideas and drive alignment.
Thrives in ambiguity and moves with urgency in a fast-paced, global, and constantly evolving environment.
Is a dynamic, highly analytical thinker with a strong command of supply chain and demand planning operations — and a vision for where AI will take it next.
MS/MBA in supply chain, engineering or related field.
