About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon's scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.
The Worldwide Sustainability Salesforce Team is looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer to design, build, and integrate the Salesforce instances that support Sustainability teams across Amazon. You will work across Salesforce and AWS, and you will help set the technical direction for both.
We're building out our Salesforce instances to support Sustainability goals that reach every part of Amazon's business. In this role you will help define the long-term technical architecture for how Worldwide Sustainability uses Salesforce, AWS, and AI to improve productivity and operate more efficiently. You will use your engineering judgment and architecture experience to design and build secure, scalable products for internal customers across Amazon in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture of the Sustainability Salesforce instances, including the data model, security and sharing model, automation strategy, and integration patterns across multiple orgs.
- Evaluate when to build custom, configure native platform features, or adopt an AppExchange product, and recommend the right tool for each requirement.
- Design, build, and maintain custom solutions with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and Salesforce platform APIs that hold up under large data volumes and platform governor limits.
- Design and build integrations between Salesforce, AWS, and other internal Amazon systems, using API-based and event-driven patterns, secure authentication, and serverless services.
- Build and operate the AWS components the platform depends on, defined as infrastructure as code, with logging, monitoring, alarms, and least-privilege access.
- Build generative AI features into the platform on Salesforce and AWS, and use AI-assisted development tools to deliver faster without lowering quality.
- Own the engineering lifecycle, including source control, code review, automated testing, static code analysis, CI/CD pipelines, and environment management from sandbox through production.
- Protect platform security and data quality by enforcing object and field-level security, managing credentials and secrets, and resolving security findings.
- Lead technical design reviews and code reviews, set development standards, and mentor developers and administrators on the team.
- Partner with product owners, program managers, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous requirements into technical designs, estimates, and delivery plans.
- Resolve escalated production issues across Salesforce and connected systems, find the root cause, and build mechanisms that prevent the same failure from happening again.
- Proactively identify opportunities to use Salesforce, AWS, and AI in new ways to improve business processes, increase productivity, and support an organization scaling at a rapid pace.
