The Central Program Manager is the operational backbone of the AI Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) Working Group. This role bridges day-to-day POD supervision with broader engagement-level management, serving as the primary point of escalation for program execution and senior stakeholder contact. Responsible for definition, governance setup, and implementation of critical AI PDLC initiatives, the Central PM drives accountability and engagement while ensuring all Pods execute within the program's strategic framework.

#1. MD-level interaction is expected on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

● Governance & Execution

    • Establish governance aligned to PM Taxonomy; adapt based on evolving requirements
    • Coordinate all POD meetings: cadence, agendas, takeaways, action tracking
    • Maintain alignment to the approved engagement strategy
    • Define program objectives and develop structure and controls for successful delivery

● Reporting & Communication

    • Publish RAG status to Exec Sponsors and Operating Committee; manage escalations
    • Develop executive-level progress dashboards based on plan and risk analysis
    • Set direction and drive pace through clear, effective communication
    • Capture and document lessons learned; share best practices across the team

● Risk & Issue Management

    • Maintain consolidated RAID log; ensure timely escalation and mitigation
    • Provide challenge to status reports to highlight risk and ensure accuracy
    • Proactively identify opportunities to manage risk through streamlining
    • Execute active risk management with complete impact assessments

● Stakeholder & Team Leadership

    • Build strong relationships with MD-level and senior program stakeholders
    • Manage, mentor, and coach team members; identify high performers
    • Manage program resourcing strategy; escalating to senior leadership  when needed
    • Drive accountability and engagement — hold oneself and team to deliverables

● Enterprise Program Management Tools

    • Experience using enterprise program management tools to plan work, track milestones, manage dependencies, and monitor delivery across complex initiatives.
    • Ability to maintain accurate project records in tracking systems, including status, risks, issues, decisions, and action items.
    • Use project tracking data to produce clear reports for senior stakeholders and identify delays or risks that require escalation.

Program Management

  • Requirements:
    • 10+ years managing complex projects/programs following a structured methodology
    • Independently lead complex programs within broader initiatives; medium-to-high risk, LOB-wide scope
    • Guide, influence, and direct individuals through matrix management to achieve common goals
    • Solve complex problems; turn incomplete/conflicting inputs into tactical action plans
    • Acts as change catalyst; embodies strong team leadership and mobilization skills
    • PMP or PRINCE2 certified (or within 1 year); MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications (All Levels)

    • Experience managing AI/ML or digital transformation programs within financial services
    • Familiarity with AI Product Development Lifecycle governance and POD-based delivery structures
    • Background working with Operating Committees and executive governance bodies
