Why Genentech
We’re passionate about delivering on Our Promise to improve the lives of patients and create healthier communities for all. We foster a culture of inclusivity, integrity and creativity while boldly pursuing answers to the world’s most complex health challenges and transforming society.
The Opportunity
Within Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs (CMG), the Data, Digital & Analytics (DDA) organization turns data, analytics, digital capabilities, and AI/ML into actionable insights that enable faster, higher-impact decisions. As a Principal Business Product Manager leading our 360 Insights pillar, you will shape the next generation of customer and business insight products across CMG, creating connected enterprise experiences that empower teams to deliver transformative outcomes for patients. In this Director-level role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy, user experience, data architecture, and advanced AI/ML to define and scale mission-critical analytics products.
- Define and execute the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the 360 Insights portfolio, translating complex commercial and medical needs into scalable, reusable enterprise data and analytics capabilities.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery, concept validation, and MVP through launch, enterprise-wide scaling, hypercare, and continuous value realization.
- Partner cross-functionally with Roche Digital Technology (RDT), Data Science, AI/ML, Data Product, and Activation teams to guide technical delivery, manage dependencies, and make rigorous architectural trade-offs.
- Embed disciplined Agile product management practices across the portfolio using tools like Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence to ensure absolute visibility across delivery priorities and outcomes.
- Lead user research, prototype validation, and role-based UX/UI design with business champions to ensure decision-support tools are intuitive and embedded seamlessly into daily workflows.
- Spearhead data, analytics, and AI product innovation by defining business requirements, explainability standards, and human-in-the-loop oversight for advanced analytics and generative AI capabilities.
- Establish clear launch-readiness criteria, governance standards, and regulatory guardrails, ensuring strict adherence to healthcare compliance frameworks and separation of Commercial and Medical data.
Who you are
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Bring 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years dedicated to pharmaceutical analytics, digital product management, or business analytics product management.
Preferred
- Possess deep expertise in pharmaceutical commercial and healthcare data domains (e.g., claims, sales, access, field engagement, and patient/account affiliations).
- Demonstrate a proven track record of managing enterprise data and analytics products across the full lifecycle—from discovery and MVP through scaling, adoption, and value measurement.
- Exhibit exceptional executive presence and stakeholder influence, with the ability to align complex cross-functional matrixed teams, navigate organizational ambiguity, and make balanced trade-off decisions.
- MBA, MS, PhD, or advanced technical degree in Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience delivering enterprise customer-360 architectures, decision-support tools, context/semantic layers, or AI/ML-driven analytics products.
- Hands-on product management leadership utilizing Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, and interactive rapid prototyping tools.
- Advanced familiarity with generative AI capabilities, LLM integration, and modern cloud data warehouse architectures within a heavily regulated healthcare or life sciences environment.
