Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Stripe’s Workplace team is responsible for delivering welcoming, functional, and beautiful environments across the globe, and for ensuring that Stripe’s real estate portfolio evolves to stay aligned with our mission and the needs of our users.
What you’ll do
As a Workplace Design Coordinator at Stripe, you will help maintain and improve design quality across our global office portfolio. In this role, you will manage design standards and portfolio knowledge, review test fits and design submissions, identify design improvements for existing sites, and support strategic design programs spanning vendor partnerships, wellness, sustainability, and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
The ideal candidate combines strong design judgment with excellent communication and organizational skills, research chops, and follow-through. You can evaluate design information, synthesize findings, maintain clear documentation, and coordinate work across cross-functional internal teams and external partners with tact and precision.
Responsibilities
- Design standards and portfolio knowledge: Maintain Workplace Design resources, including design guidelines, office categories, project books, and portfolio documentation; support updates to guidelines incorporating learnings from completed projects and portfolio audits; and create self-service tools that help internal teams and external partners understand and apply design standards
- Design review and portfolio improvements: Review test fits, design presentations, drawings, material selections, and project documentation to identify inconsistencies and provide design feedback, including what needs to change and why; partner with regional teams to audit and update existing offices, identify and understand user feedback and trends, and track recurring design issues to inform future recommendations and small-scale pilots
- Strategic design programs: Coordinate design work streams for bulk-deal and strategic vendor partnerships, and support wellness, sustainability, and inclusive design goals by establishing practical ways to track progress and research compliant products
- Innovation and practical AI: Explore, test, and document practical applications of AI for design research, documentation, portfolio analysis, and knowledge sharing, and translate pilot results into actionable guidance or self-service tools
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner effectively with internal stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and cross-functional teams, including those working on audiovisual (AV)-integrated spaces, to deliver consistent design execution across portfolio touch points
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, design strategy, or a related field; experience in workplace design, interior design, architecture, or design strategy; and strong visual and spatial design judgment, design acumen, and familiarity with workplace wellness, sustainable design, accessibility, or inclusive design principles
- Proven experience reading and reviewing architectural plans, test fits, design drawings, material selections, and specifications; strong research and problem-solving skills; and a track record of translating research findings into actionable design recommendations
- Proficiency with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and/or Bluebeam, planning applications such as Asana, and Google Drive and Google Slides
- Curiosity about AI and emerging tools, paired with a practical, thoughtful approach to experimentation and workflow enhancement
- Ability to independently manage defined work streams while seeking direction on novel, ambiguous, or high-impact decisions; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; and strong leadership, relationship management, and written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications
- National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification or an architecture license, including either credential in progress
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design and wellness, including WELL, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), or similar standards
- 5+ years of experience in technology-forward workplace design
- Design experience with hospitality, food and beverage spaces, or event spaces
- Strong cross-functional partnership experience, particularly with AV-integrated spaces
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3ds Max
