AI Engineer - Mid/Senior Level

We are looking for Mid and Senior AI Engineers to join our team and contribute to the development, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our data and AI platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and ongoing evolution of our AI solutions, with opportunities to make an impact at different levels of experience and expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in AI, Software Engineering, or related areas
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI ecosystems
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices
• Solid understanding of AI application architectures, including Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search solutions
• Knowledge of agentic frameworks, tool calling, and orchestration patterns
• Understanding of AI safety, evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Understanding of MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and model deployment workflows
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Fluency in Portuguese and English B2 (minimum)

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop AI‑powered solutions using state‑of‑the‑art ML and generative AI technologies
• Build and optimize LLM‑based applications, including RAG pipelines and agentic workflows
• Design and integrate vector databases, prompt engineering strategies, and tool‑calling mechanisms
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize AI systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
• Apply AI safety, evaluation, and guardrail best practices across AI solutions
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into AI solutions
• Contribute to architecture decisions and platform scalability initiatives

Location: Lisbon

Legal: Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen Space Nationality to legally work in Portugal.
