Job Description

Team Overview

Case Investigations & Enforcement (CIE) team is responsible for protecting the integrity, safety, and trust of the Visa payment ecosystem. The team monitors and enforces risk and compliance programs that identify, investigate, and remediate behaviors that threaten the stability of the network, Visa clients, and end users.

These programs span multiple risk domains, including acquirer and issuer monitoring, fraud and risk compliance, integrity programs, and network risk investigations, and include programs such as Rules Compliance, VAMP, VIMP, FRECOP, VIRP, and related ecosystem risk frameworks. Collectively, these programs ensure that ecosystem participants operate in alignment with Visa Rules, program requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.

What a Senior Manager, CIE does at Visa

As Senior Manager in the CIE team in Asia Pacific, you will take a leading role in executing the enforcement of Visa risk programs in alignment with the strategic direction and compliance of the programs in the region. These programs include:

  • Visa Integrity Risk program (VIRP), a framework and set of requirements to deter, detect, and remediate illegal activity from the Visa Payment System, and to manage high-risk acquiring activities.
  • Visa Acquirer Risk program (VAMP), a monitoring program to reduce fraud and enumeration attacks across the global payments ecosystem by helping acquirers improve their risk controls.
  • Visa Issuer Monitoring Program (VIMP), a program designed to maintain desirable fraud and dispute levels for issuers.
  • Fraud Reporting and Control Program (FRECOP), a program to ensure holistic reporting of fraud across products and channels.
  • Third Party Registration Program (TPA) enhances visibility in the payment ecosystem and ensure clients conduct robust due diligence of their agents.
  • Account Information Security Program (AIS) safeguards cardholder data in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in establishing efficient operations, procedures and processes, and providing advice to optimize and enhance programs.

The position partners closely with internal stakeholders such as Global and Regional Risk functions, Client Services and Account Executives to ensure consistent application of risk and compliance standards while minimizing operational, brand and reputational risk to Visa. The role primarily supports enforcement programs and contributes to internal and external stakeholder engagement related to compliance and enforcement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Own End to End Program Operations

  • Oversee and execute program operations, driving compliance with Visa Rules and program requirements while balancing client needs.
  • Lead complex investigations, compliance reviews, and escalations with internal and external clients to achieve effective remediation and risk mitigation.
  • Drive timely resolution of compliance issues through client engagement, corrective action plans, and enforcement activities.
  • Manage financial operations to ensure financial and operational integrity, while supporting compliance objectives and the consistent application of program requirements.

Manage Stakeholders

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader in risk operations, providing guidance on compliance requirements, remediation strategies, and enforcement approaches.
  • Representing the team internally and externally, influencing decision-making at senior levels and advocating for consistent application of Visa Rules and program requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively across global teams and time zones to drive alignment on compliance priorities, risk mitigation strategies, and enforcement outcomes.
  • Escalate high-risk, complex, or sensitive matters to senior management as appropriate, providing recommendations to minimize operational, brand, and reputational risk to Visa.
  • Engage with external clients on risk and compliance matters, manage escalations, and provide guidance to support effective remediation, sustainable compliance outcomes, and protection of Visa's interests.

Why this is important to Visa:

Visa owns the most recognizable global brand in the financial services industry. As both the ecosystem as well as threat vectors evolve, Visa’s capabilities and strategies evolve in tandem to maintain the security and integrity of the Visa payments ecosystem.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
