The Role: Analyst, Financial Analysis
The Analyst will play a key role in performing financial analysis and delivering actionable insights that help inform business decisions. Partnering closely with Financial Analysis & Planning Managers, the Analyst will analyze actual results against forecast, identify key trends and variances, and update business forecasts for SPDJI functions.
The Analyst will also drive process improvement initiatives that streamline reporting and increase efficiency, while supporting the monthly financial close and estimate process. The role will also help manage the quarterly revenue share process, working directly with clients, and conduct competitor intelligence research to inform management. Across all areas of the role, the Analyst will be expected to leverage LLMs and other AI tools to work more efficiently and deliver higher-quality insights. The Analyst will be joining and interacting with a global finance team.
Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Forecasting
- Analyze actual results against estimate, forecast and prior year, identifying key variances and trends and explaining the underlying drivers
- Develop and update business forecasts for SPDJI functions in partnership with Financial Analysis & Planning Managers
- Deliver insights and commentary to support management reporting, including the Quarterly Financial Review
- Build and maintain financial models and ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions
- Support the monthly close and estimate process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and estimate updates
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring reporting and close processes
- Develop and maintain tools and workflows (e.g., Excel, Alteryx, Python, LLMs) that improve efficiency and data accuracy
- Build and maintain process documentation supported by LLMs, keeping procedures and controls clear, current and consistent across the team
Quarterly Revenue Share
- Prepare quarterly revenue share calculations, reconciling underlying volume and revenue data to source
- Analyze quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year trends and the drivers behind them
- Partner with financial management to respond to client queries on revenue share results
- Work directly with clients to review calculations, resolve questions and finalize results
Competitor Intelligence Research
- Monitor competitor earnings releases, calls and investor materials across index providers and exchanges
- Summarize notable commentary and key metrics relevant to SPDJI for management
- Track industry and market trends that affect SPDJI's business
Accounting & Operational Support
- Assist with account coding, invoice and procurement inquiries from SPDJI functions, connecting team members with Corporate resources as needed
- Assist in processing manual invoices and preparing Ariba requisitions
- Assist with vendor research as requested
What we're looking for:
Basic Qualifications:
- Finance or Accounting degree required
- 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with exposure to financial analysis, forecasting or FP&A preferred
- Very well organized and detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and financial management
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Hands-on experience using LLMs to support analysis, documentation or workflow automation, with sound judgment in validating outputs and protecting confidential data
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with Alteryx or Python considered an asset
- Familiarity with Oracle, Ariba, Salesforce or Anaplan preferred
- Working Hours: US Shift (every 1st week of the month), EMEA (the rest of the month)
- Amenable to work in Bridgetowne, Quezon City (nearest landmark: Tiendesitas and Opus Mall)
