Job Description
 

The Senior Supply Chain Specialist, Clinical Logistics plays a critical role in supporting global clinical development programs by ensuring the reliable, compliant, and efficient movement of clinical materials across a global clinical supply network. Working closely with Clinical Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Trade Compliance, contract manufacturing organizations, and third-party logistics providers, this role supports clinical supply operations across a complex and highly regulated environment. Through expertise in clinical logistics, transportation management, inventory control, and regulated supply chain operations, the Senior Supply Chain Specialist helps mitigate risk, maintain supply continuity, and support clinical trial supply activities while contributing to Gilead's mission of advancing innovative therapies for patients around the world. 
 

As a Senior Supply Chain Specialist, Clinical Logistics at Gilead you will... 
 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Execute end-to-end logistics activities supporting the movement of clinical materials across domestic and international supply networks, including transportation planning, shipment coordination, and distribution activities. 
  • Establish and maintain transportation lanes that support reliable, compliant, and efficient shipment execution. 
  • Coordinate and monitor clinical drug shipments to ensure timely delivery, temperature compliance, and chain-of-custody integrity. 
  • Support logistics operations in accordance with GDP, GMP, company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements while partnering with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Trade Compliance teams to ensure required documentation and shipment controls are maintained. 
  • Maintain accurate clinical supply information and execute inventory-related activities, including monitoring inventory status, investigating discrepancies, and processing inventory transactions. 
  • Serve as a primary logistics point of contact for internal stakeholders, contract manufacturing organizations, third-party logistics providers, and other external business partners. 
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships to support supply continuity and clinical study startup activities. 
  • Identify and mitigate logistics risks that may impact supply, service, quality, or compliance. 
  • Support the investigation and resolution of shipment exceptions, delays, temperature excursions, and other logistics-related issues. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics operations, compliance, service levels, and data quality. 
  • Review, author, and maintain departmental standard operating procedures and work instructions while supporting training and compliance with established processes. 
  • Facilitate communication of operational updates, process changes, corrective actions, and other logistics-related activities across stakeholders. 
     

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree and Five Years' Experience 

OR 

Master's Degree and Three Years' Experience 
 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare supply chain operations. 
  • Knowledge of GDP and GMP operating environments. 
  • Experience supporting domestic and international shipment activities. 
  • Experience with cold-chain logistics or temperature-controlled shipment operations. 
  • Experience working with contract manufacturing organizations, third-party logistics providers, or similar logistics partners. 
  • Ability to collaborate across internal functions and external partners supporting regulated logistics operations. 
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for this position is: $117,895.00 - $152,570.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
