The Role
This role offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced technology team within Fidelity Institutional Technology, supporting FundsNetwork.
In this role, you will lead the engineering organization responsible for building and enhancing capabilities across modern enterprise platforms and full-stack applications. You will play a critical role in evolving the model and delivering high-quality client experiences.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with business stakeholders, product leaders, and architecture teams to align technology strategy with business objectives. You will lead and develop high-performing engineering teams, drive delivery excellence, and ensure the successful execution of complex, enterprise-scale initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop one or more engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Partner with product, business, and technology leaders to define strategy, priorities, and roadmaps
- Drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, high-performing applications across enterprise platforms
- Ensure engineering best practices, quality standards, and secure coding principles are consistently applied
- Oversee delivery execution, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination
- Collaborate with architecture teams to align solutions with enterprise standards and long-term technology strategy
- Drive improvements in system reliability, scalability, and performance
- Manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across initiatives
- Support hiring, onboarding, and talent development to build a strong engineering organization
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and operational excellence
The Expertise & Skills You Bring
- 6-8+ years of experience in software engineering, with demonstrated experience leading engineering teams
- Strong technical background in full-stack development, enterprise systems, and modern architecture
- Experience delivering applications across web and API
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, complex initiatives from concept through delivery
- Strong understanding of Agile development practices and experience leading Agile teams
- Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders to align on priorities and outcomes
- Ability to drive technical decision-making while balancing speed, quality, and scalability
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence teams and levels

The organization provides access to Fidelity’s extensive investment capabilities and plays a key role in supporting client engagement and business growth.
You will lead a collaborative and diverse engineering team responsible for business-critical applications across multiple environments. The team values strong leadership, continuous learning, and delivering high-quality, resilient solutions aligned with business needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to drive technical strategy, develop engineering talent, and lead the delivery of impactful, client-facing solutions in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
