About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
As Principal PMT you set the direction for ASCI as a product area and are accountable for where it goes next, giving customers a secure and isolated environment to run generative AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing workloads in a classified setting. You define the strategy others execute, shape the business models that open new customer segments, and influence senior leaders across AWS, government stakeholders, and industry partners to make that strategy real. This is a highly technical role that rewards deep fluency in technical and compliance detail and the ability to set direction and build alignment across customers and internal AWS organizations.
- Own the vision and multi-year strategy for ASCI as a product area, central to the COCO mission.
- Set direction across the portfolio and resolve the hardest prioritization and sequencing trade-offs.
- Shape the business and engagement models that open new customer segments and use cases.
- Influence senior AWS leaders, government stakeholders, and industry partners to align on and fund the strategy.
- Carry business accountability for adoption and growth, and represent the product area in executive reviews.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the product strategy. Set the vision and multi-year strategy for ASCI as a product area, define the tenets and goals that guide it, and keep that strategy connected to broader organizational and executive planning.
- Set direction others execute. Frame the hardest, most ambiguous problems, make the one-way-door calls, and give product managers and engineering teams the direction they build against.
- Shape new business models. Turn the platform's reusable primitives into new engagement and acquisition models that open additional customer segments and use cases.
- Drive launches at scale. Own the readiness bar across the portfolio: technical readiness, pricing, independent verification and validation, compliance and accreditation gates, and go-to-market, coordinating the many teams each launch depends on.
- Be accountable for outcomes. Own adoption and business results against goals, surface and prioritize growth opportunities, and report progress in operational and executive business reviews.
- Influence customers and partners directly. Work backward from customers, engage them and senior government and industry stakeholders directly, and partner across AWS service, engineering, and field organizations to turn their needs into what ships.
- Write the narratives that drive decisions. Produce the strategy documents, business reviews, and planning narratives that senior leadership uses to make investment and direction decisions.
