The selected candidate will act as a primary contact in supporting Amazon business units and senior leadership through industry research, strategy development, due diligence, valuation analyses, deal structuring, term sheet and contract negotiations, and internal and external relationship building.
This position is located in Boston, MA. Consideration will be given to locations in San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA in select cases.
Key job responsibilities
• Identify appropriate opportunities that support Amazon's strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, investment bankers, venture capitalists, and organic pipeline generation
• Partner with Amazon businesses to evaluate expansion and growth opportunities
• Evaluate the benefits of potential acquisitions, investments and partnerships, and manage the process of building both internal and external consensus
• Act as a subject matter expert on valuation and deal structuring
• Lead all pre-transaction diligence efforts
• Evaluate synergy opportunities and risks in potential transactions
• Negotiate key legal documents and bring transactions over the finish line
• Work with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, legal, finance, tax, accounting, and senior management to execute transactions from term sheet to integration
• Establish processes and strategy that enable Amazon to continue to build a leading corporate development competency

Corporate Development is a small, collaborative team that values authentic individuals who think creatively and proactively seek opportunities to advance Amazon’s growth through inorganic efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, investments, and partnerships. The team sits at the intersection of Amazon’s strategy and the broader technology and innovation ecosystem, partnering closely with business leaders to analyze markets, technologies, and companies that accelerate Amazon’s mission and long-term growth. Bringing together expertise in strategy, M&A, and integration, the team leads the end-to-end process of sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and integrating acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships across Amazon’s businesses.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
