Overview

Microsoft’s Enterprise Account Teams focus on empowering customers on their AI Transformation journey. This team is responsible for envisioning new possibilities for our customers, delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes, and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.

 

As an Account Technology Strategist (ATS) supporting a strategic customer in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, you will lead the translation of the customer’s business priorities into a comprehensive technology strategy and roadmap across Microsoft’s portfolio. You will serve as an account CTO and trusted technology advisor, developing deep relationships with the customer’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Digital Officer (CDO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and other senior technology and business leaders.

 

A critical focus of this role will be helping the customer define and execute its Data and AI strategy. As AI becomes increasingly central to enterprise transformation, the ATS must understand how data platforms, data architecture, governance, analytics, generative AI, and agentic AI come together to create secure, scalable, enterprise-ready solutions. You will help the customer connect its data estate and AI ambitions to a broader technology strategy that enables innovation and measurable business outcomes.

 

In collaboration with the Account Team, you will orchestrate Microsoft and partner resources to bring technology leadership and industry expertise to the customer. You will combine a deep understanding of the customer’s business, technology landscape, Data and AI strategy, and CPG industry priorities with expertise across AI, data, cloud, security, applications, and enterprise technologies to help the customer securely adopt and embrace AI and accelerate its transformation.

 

This opportunity will allow you to apply your technology and industry expertise at enterprise scale, influence long-term technology strategy, and lead a broad virtual team of Microsoft specialists, engineering resources, services, and partners. You will help the customer connect technology investments to business outcomes while positioning Microsoft as a strategic technology partner.

Responsibilities

Customer Data, AI and Security Strategy Leadership

Understand, document, and articulate the customer’s business objectives, technology landscape, data estate, Data and AI strategy, and security priorities. Lead strategic conversations that help the customer translate business priorities into an actionable enterprise technology roadmap, with particular emphasis on using Data and AI to enable transformation and new business capabilities.

 

Account CTO and Trusted Technology Advisor

Develop and nurture trusted relationships with C-level technology executives and senior business leaders. Serve as an account CTO, bringing technology thought leadership, industry insights, and an informed point of view to help executives navigate strategic technology decisions. Engage credibly across Data and AI, security, cloud, applications, and emerging technologies and connect these capabilities to the customer’s long-term business strategy.

 

Data and AI Strategy

Help the customer develop a cohesive strategy connecting its enterprise data estate with its AI ambitions. Bring perspectives across data platforms, data architecture, analytics, governance, security, generative AI, and agentic AI to help create the foundation required to operationalize AI at enterprise scale. Partner with customer technology leaders and Microsoft specialists to identify data and platform opportunities and barriers that may accelerate or constrain AI transformation.

 

AI Transformation

Bring credible AI technology leadership and anunderstanding of modern AI architectures, generative AI, agentic AI, and enterprise AI platforms to customer conversations. Help the customer evaluate, securely adopt, and operationalize AI technologies while connecting AI innovation to business priorities and measurable outcomes.Engage senior customer leaders on  both the strategic and technical implications of AI, helping distinguish experimentation from capabilities that can be securely governed, integrated, scaled, and operated within a complex global enterprise.

 

Technology Strategy and Roadmap

Lead the translation of the customer’s desired business outcomes into a cohesive enterprise technology strategy and roadmap. Bring together Data and AI, cloud, security, applications, infrastructure, and other Microsoft capabilities to help the customer modernize its technology estate and achieve its desired future state.

 

Technical Leadership and Orchestration

Orchestrate Microsoft specialists, engineering, customer success, services, partners, and other technical resources around the customer’s priorities. Establish clarity and alignment across the virtual team to deliver a consistent end-to-end technology strategy and customer experience.  Act as the technical leader of the account team, connecting specialist expertise and individual technology initiatives to the customer’s broader architecture, Data and AI strategy, transformation priorities, and business outcomes.

 

Customer and Industry Insights

Develop a deep understanding of the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, including relevant business and technology trends, opportunities, threats, and barriers to growth. Apply these insights to challenge assumptions and bring new perspectives to customer conversations.

Identify opportunities where Data and AI can transform areas such as supply chain, manufacturing, R&D, consumer engagement, commercial execution, productivity, and other core CPG business processes.

 

Operational and Commercial Excellence

Engage deeply with the customer using consultative selling skills to identify and develop new opportunities, remove technical barriers, drive adoption and usage, and help ensure the customer realizes value from Microsoft’s portfolio of solutions. Connect the technology strategy to execution by helping prioritize technology investments, identify transformation opportunities, and align Microsoft resources around the customer’s most important business and technology priorities.



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 7+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience 
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Experience developing and leading enterprise technology strategies and roadmaps across large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Data and AI, including enterprise data platforms, data architecture, analytics, governance, artificial intelligence, generative AI, and agentic AI.
  • Understanding of the relationship between an organization’s data estate, cloud platform, security architecture, and AI strategy, and the ability to translate these technologies into enterprise architecture decisions and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience helping organizations evaluate, adopt, and operationalize AI technologies at enterprise scale, including considerations across architecture, data, security, governance, integration, and responsible AI.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure AI, Microsoft Foundry, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or equivalent enterprise Data and AI platforms.
  • Experience building trusted relationships with CIO, CTO, CDO, CISO, business unit leaders, and other senior technology and business decision-makers and influencing strategic technology decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and emerging technologies to both technical and non-technical executive audiences and connect technology decisions to business strategy and measurable outcomes.
  • Experience or knowledge of the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, including an understanding of industry business priorities, technology trends, and transformation opportunities.
  • Experience operating in complex enterprise environments and orchestrating cross-functional technical teams, engineering organizations, partners, and services organizations around a common technology strategy.
  • Relevant Data and AI technical certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise are strongly preferred. Examples include:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate (AI-103)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate (AI-200)
    • Equivalent industry-recognized Data and AI certifications
    • Candidates with demonstrated real-world experience designing, advising on, or leading enterprise Data and AI transformation may be considered in lieu of specific certifications.


Strategic Account Technology IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
