Job Description
 

As the HBV/HDV Marketing Promotions Director you will:

 

  • Drive bold creative campaigns that educate HCPs and patients to support product utilization
  • Develop compelling stories to highlight our differentiated clinical data
  • Shape the future of HBV promotions by translating data-driven insights into impactful promotional programs through personal and non-personal channels
  • Support the development of HDV promotional strategies and tactics

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

 

Role Overview & Responsibilities

  • Lead development of U.S. HBV HCP personal promotion strategy and executional plan ensuring alignment with brand objectives and evolving market dynamics.
  • Create materials for HCP personal promotion in partnership with Sales Leadership, including call flows, objection handling, and sales tools tailored to a mature brand.
  • Pull-through new global HBV HCP campaign and shape the development of a new patient campaign 
  • Lead HBV DTP/DTC promotional efforts
  • Assist in the development of HDV promotional materials and initiatives and prepare for competitive market events
  • Oversee non-personal tactical initiatives including but not limited to websites, social media, digital/print media initiatives, SEO/SEM, email marketing to optimize success of the brand  
  • Develop marketing solutions to a wide range of complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.  Ensure solutions are compliant and consistent with organization objectives.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development to define Sales training objectives and content as well as support execution of workshops at national sales meetings.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to internal stakeholders and external audiences, translating strategy into action.
  • Generate and synthesize insights from multiple data sources to inform strategic decisions and optimize promotional impact.
  • Define and track marketing KPIs, using data to drive continuous improvement and performance optimization.
  • Serve as a core team member for brand strategy and annual plan of action development.
  • Effectively manage agency relationships and budgets, ensuring high-quality output and fiscal discipline.
  • Manage Medical-Legal-Regulatory review committee discussions to ensure promotional tools and communications are compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

PhD and Eight Years’ Experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, including with mature brands.
  • Pharmaceutical HCP Promotions experience.
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Expertise leading the development of pharmaceutical promotional tools for use in personal and non-personal promotions channels.
  • Experience collaborating with and inspiring sales team members.
  • Proven ability to leverage market insights from multiple data sources to uncover needs, informing brand strategy and translating into tactics.
  • Development of KPIs and implementation of systematic monitoring plans to closely track promotional effectiveness and optimize marketing mix.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements and their impact on HCP marketing.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills across a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to successfully manage external agencies to develop programs and materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, with an understanding of budget planning and tracking.
  • Responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through coupled with ability to prioritize/multi-task effectively.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management including planning, prioritization, execution, analytical assessment and performance management of multiple projects/ priorities.
  • Experience communicating with healthcare providers and educating patients across a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to lead by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented attitude.

The salary range for this position is: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
