At Amazon, we strive to be Earth's most customer-centric company where people can find and discover anything they want to buy online. We hire the world's brightest minds, offering them an environment in which they can relentlessly improve the customer experience. Innovation and creativity are built into the DNA of the company and are encouraged at all levels of employment. Every day we solve complex technical and business problems with ingenuity and simplicity. We're making history and the good news is we've only just begun.
Amazon is seeking a motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead a team at our IT Warehouse in Renton, WA. This corporate warehouse supports employees and IT operations throughout the Seattle area and across the U.S., providing direct asset replenishment, logistical support, and inventory management for Amazon's IT infrastructure.
As an Operations Manager, you will directly manage a team responsible for warehouse operations, owning performance, safety, quality, and productivity. You will set and maintain operational standards, develop your team through coaching and mentoring, and drive process improvements using data and metrics. You will function as the operational owner of your area — identifying defects, removing roadblocks, escalating appropriately, and ensuring your team consistently meets service-level commitments.
This role requires someone who can independently manage end-to-end warehouse operations, make sound judgment calls with ambiguous or competing priorities, and build scalable processes. You will partner cross-functionally with IT support teams, InfoSec, and program stakeholders to meet business objectives.
Our team approaches work as seeing no job as too small and no challenge as too big.

Key job responsibilities
Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team handling warehouse operations
Own safety, quality, productivity, and attendance metrics; drive improvements through data-driven decisions
Manage receiving, storage, and inventory control of IT assets and peripherals
Oversee picking, kitting, and preparation of IT assets for configuration and deployment
Drive restocking of IT inventory locations, vending machines, and supply stores
Ensure proper handling of returned IT assets in accordance with compute reuse, reverse logistics, and disposal processes
Manage preparation and packaging of IT assets for transportation in line with IT and InfoSec policies
Coordinate removal and recovery of IT assets from campus locations as required
Support new hire equipment preparation and campus IT support staff at new hire orientation
Identify and implement process improvements; build SOPs and standard work to reduce variability
Partner with cross-functional teams (IT Support, InfoSec, Facilities, Program Management) to meet business objectives
Must be flexible for schedule (able to work nights and/or weekends as needed) and able to stand/walk for 8-10 hours at a time.

A day in the life
You arrive at a warehouse facility in Renton, WA and start by reviewing operations — inbound demand, outbound shipments, overnight escalations. You walk the floor, check in with leads, and catch bottlenecks before they become problems. Some days you're balancing capacity across kitting, shipping, returns, and asset disposition. Other days you're driving process improvements, coordinating with logistics partners, or resolving escalations that need a decision now. You own throughput, SLAs, quality, and safety. You coach leads and make trade-off calls when demand exceeds capacity. The constant: every device shipped on time means someone can do their job Day 1.

About the team
We're Amazon's primary imaging center for North America — a warehouse team that prepares and ships every corporate laptop before an employee's first day. We process thousands of devices weekly across multiple imaging lanes and shifts. You'll work alongside engineers, technicians, and operations specialists who build their own tools, write their own procedures, and own their programs end-to-end. Our culture is hands-on, direct, and team-first. We value people who take ownership, communicate clearly, and look for ways to improve how things work. Every day brings something different.
