Job Description
Team Summary:
The Sellers & Fintech Partnerships team is responsible for identifying, structuring, closing and managing strategic partnerships, alliances and commercial deals. The fintech partnerships team works closely with Visa’s Product and Solutions teams (functions and services) to identify and pursue a new client base of Issuing & Acquiring platforms and various service providers and ecosystem participants in the payments industry across Asia Pacific.
What a Director, Fintech Partnerships does at Visa:
The Director, Fintech Partnerships is responsible for driving end-to-end partnership growth across the Singapore fintech ecosystem, from opportunity identification and business development through solution design, commercial structuring and commercialization.
This role requires a recognized fintech and payments specialist with deep market knowledge, strong industry connections and a proven ability to create new business opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships that accelerate adoption of Visa's capabilities while delivering mutual growth for Visa and its partners.
Given the rapid evolution of digital money movement, the candidate should be well versed in stablecoins, tokenized payments, and the broader digital asset ecosystem. They should possess a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape, emerging business models, and the role stablecoins can play in cross-border payments, treasury, settlement, and programmable commerce. The individual will be expected to identify, develop and commercialize partnerships with stablecoin issuers, digital asset platforms, wallets, infrastructure providers and other ecosystem participants that align with Visa's strategic priorities.
While the primary market focus is Singapore, the role may support selected opportunities across Asia Pacific where ecosystem relationships, partnerships or growth opportunities align with Visa's strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Strategic Account Management and Business Development Ecosystem Growth:
- Own and manage key fintech and digital asset client relationships, ensuring strategic alignment with regional and global priorities while identifying opportunities to deepen partnerships and accelerate business growth
- Identify, develop and execute high-impact partnerships across fintechs, digital banks, payment service providers, embedded finance platforms and emerging ecosystem participants.
- Build strong business development and hunting capabilities to identify new opportunities and emerging business models.
- Leverage industry relationships and ecosystem intelligence to identify opportunities before they become mainstream market initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with founders, investors, accelerators and ecosystem influencers
Solutioning & Partnership Development:
- Work closely with partners to understand customer needs, business models, customer journeys and growth objectives.
- Translate strategic opportunities into scalable payment and commerce solutions leveraging Visa's capabilities.
- Act as a solution integrator by bringing together internal products, services and partners to address client needs.
- Advise internal stakeholders on emerging fintech trends, technologies and ecosystem developments.
Commercialization & Deal Execution:
- Lead complex partnership opportunities from origination through negotiation, contracting, launch and revenue realization.
- Build business cases, commercial models and partnership strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Manage a portfolio of fintech relationships to deliver commercial growth and revenue objectives.
- Drive adoption of Visa products and services through partner channels and ecosystem distribution models.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in fintech, payments, partnerships, business development, product commercialization or related commercial roles.
- Deep knowledge of the Singapore fintech ecosystem and strong understanding of broader Asia Pacific market developments.
- Proficient in commercial deal modelling, deal negotiation and a proven track record of planning, managing and closing complex deals, with a focus on results driven execution
- Strong understanding of payments, issuing, acquiring, digital wallets, embedded finance, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), account-to-account payments and money movement solutions.
- Preference for candidates with prior experience in a global payments organization, scheme network , fintech or related financial institution
- Working knowledge of emerging technologies and payment trends including stablecoins, tokenization, CBDCs, digital assets and programmable payments..
- Ability to assess customer journeys, identify commercial opportunities and translate client needs into scalable payment solutions.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across a matrixed organization.
- Strong executive presence with experience engaging founders, C-suite executives and senior decision makers.
- Entrepreneurial, hands-on and execution-oriented approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing market.
