Position Description: 

 

Facilitates product development cycles by documenting detailed epics, user stories, test cases, and acceptance criteria, using Jira and Confluence to ensure alignment between engineering teams and business strategy. Generates financial and market intelligence by querying data repositories and producing periodic reports to support strategic decision-making. Creates and maintains business intelligence tools and systems, including dashboards, databases, and spreadsheets to support blockchain-based financial services. Partners with UX designers and business stakeholders to translate customer insights into actionable product requirements and innovative crypto solutions. Provides analysis on complex systems analysis projects, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Leads enterprise-level system analysis efforts. 
  • Conducts interviews with business users to gather requirements and analyzes technology needs, system limitations, and workflow challenges. 
  • Develops recommendations to address complex business needs and identify opportunities. 
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex systems analysis projects, and defines project scope. 
  • Leads junior analysts in the execution of documents on large and complex projects and monitors the quality and progress of documents created. 
  • Designs new systems based on requirements. 
  • Plans for test strategies, and coordinates user acceptance testing efforts. 
  • Communicates progress of multiple projects to management, engages stakeholders on a regular basis, and manages expectations of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Works with teams to evolve standards and best practices for systems analysis processes. 
  • Participates in incident and crisis management to assess business impact and facilitate workarounds, in concert with production support. 
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies. 
  • Provides support in developing scalable frameworks that align with long-term business objectives and adapt to evolving regulatory requirements. 
  • Leverage digital assets and blockchain technology to contribute to the strategic growth of the team. 
  • Mentors junior product analysts and developers on systems analysis techniques and business workflows. 
  • Defines and implements strategic system solutions. 
  • Advises senior leadership on technical direction. 
  • Conducts independent and complex analysis across multiple initiatives. 
  • Develops innovative solutions to support evolving business needs. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems,  or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) supporting the analysis, implementation, and operational readiness of secure financial services systems within enterprise and regulated environments through systems and data analysis, using SQL, REST-based system integrations, and application monitoring. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) supporting the analysis, implementation, and operational readiness of secure financial services systems within enterprise and regulated environments through systems and data analysis, using SQL, REST-based system integrations, and application monitoring. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise performing data analysis and business process design by developing dashboards and workflows using Microsoft PowerApps and Apache Kafka; writing and optimizing SQL queries for structured datasets; and producing data outputs used for executive reporting and strategic decision support.   
  • Demonstrated Expertise supporting systems analysis initiatives within microservices-based architectures by monitoring application logs, integrating REST APIs, and conducting end-to-end system and UI testing; validating application behavior and data flow using SQL databases, Datadog, and Offset Explorer; performing test execution and reporting through Xray; and creating system flow diagrams and test evidence using Microsoft Visio, Gliffy, Draw.io, and Snagit.  
  • Demonstrated Expertise gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and system requirements for financial services solutions by producing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios; maintaining backlog and delivery artifacts using Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, and XRAY; and maintaining shared documentation and access-controlled artifacts using SharePoint.  
  • Demonstrated Expertise supporting application operations and issue resolution across environments by monitoring and analyzing logs using Datadog; testing and validating RESTful APIs using Insomnia; tracking incidents and changes using ServiceNow; and maintaining version control repositories using GitHub.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
