Sr. Associate, Communications - Internal Card Campaigns (Hybrid)

Are you a strong storyteller who turns big strategy into compelling, high-impact stories? A natural reporter who follows leads to build a compelling narrative? Do you understand how to use internal communications to connect associates to a shared sense of purpose? If so, this role could be for you!

About the Role

We’re seeking a Sr. Associate, Communications to join our Card Communications team. In this role, you will plan and execute associate-facing campaigns for some of our most critical “moments that matter” throughout the year. Taking an editorial approach, you’ll leverage our multi-channel ecosystem—including intranet, newsletters, Slack, and events—to inform, inspire and engage associates across the organization.

To thrive in this role, you bring both professional maturity and grit—navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities with a steady, solution-oriented approach while demonstrating high agency to see initiatives through to completion.

On any given day, you will partner closely with:

  • Creative: Elevating stories through digital and multimedia platforms, including in partnership with our videographer and designer
  • Executive Communications: Uncovering departmental wins and translating them into Card-wide news across our internal channels
  • Cross-Functional Partners (Chiefs of Staff, HR, etc.): Understanding the evolving communication needs of our associates to curate and deliver timely, targeted messaging

You will have the opportunity to frequently see your work showcased to more than 30,000 associates while working side-by-side with smart, talented people who will challenge you to grow and excel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Campaign Execution & Storytelling: Develop and launch comprehensive internal communication campaigns aligned with Card’s strategic priorities, using storytelling to drive engagement and culture
  • Stakeholder Management: Partner effectively across matrixed leadership teams, exercising sound judgment, composure under pressure, and emotional intelligence when driving alignment
  • Channel Strategy: Write, publish and distribute targeted content optimized for specific channels, including e-mail, Slack, intranet, newsletters, and events
  • Story Mining (Journalism Mindset): Act as an internal reporter—proactively interviewing stakeholders, asking sharp questions, and translating complex business initiatives into clear, human-centered stories
  • Editorial Planning: Maintain and manage the editorial calendar for Card-wide communications, ensuring a balanced frequency of business updates, culture stories, and leadership messaging
  • Analytics & Optimization: Track, analyze and report on channel metrics and feedback to continuously refine and improve our communications strategy and messaging
  • Tool Adoption: Leverage emerging productivity and AI tools to streamline content drafting and editorial workflows

REQUIREMENTS

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation abilities and editorial judgment to distill complex strategy into clear, engaging content
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build communication plans and align cross-functional partners across a complex, matrixed organization
  • Proven track record of managing end-to-end projects with urgency, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering high-quality work on time and within budget
  • Ability to navigate fast-paced environments with adaptability, sound judgment, and composure under pressure
  • Strong stakeholder-orientation with a history of building trusted, collaborative working relationships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or newsroom/journalism settings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA in Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing
  • At least 3 years of experience as a communications specialist
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing experience role or financial services
  • Proven track record of managing digital communication channels and email newsletter tools
  • Background in newsroom/journalistic writing
  • Exceptional project management and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Experience using data and engagement analytics to adjust communication strategies
