Business Description:
Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTi) is the technology team at the core of each of Blackstone's businesses and new growth initiatives. Serving both internal and external clients, we work to build the next generation of systems that manage risk, create efficiency, and improve transparency within the firm and across our broad community of investors and portfolio companies.
BXTi is nimble and entrepreneurial. Our open, iterative design processes and rapid pace of development mean that everyone on the team can make an impact from day one. We are problem solvers who take projects from idea to implementation. We believe in active mentoring, developing excellence, and collaborating to find the best answers for our customers and for Blackstone. We are critical to the firm maintaining its competitive edge.
Private Wealth continues to grow, driving increased demand for technology solutions that support our advisors, clients, and distribution teams. Team members are exposed to a broad range of initiatives spanning Product, Sales, Marketing, Investor Services, Operations, and Data, with the opportunity to solve meaningful business problems and directly influence how the business scales.
Job Description:
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President to serve as a hands-on technology operator within the Private Wealth Technology team. This individual will move across critical initiatives based on business need, including CRM, advisor-facing platforms, sales and marketing technology, customer data, analytics, workflow solutions, digital experience platforms, and emerging AI capabilities. Core platforms may include Salesforce, Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot, customer data platforms (CDPs), reporting and analytics tools, content management systems, and advisor-facing digital experiences.
The role is heavily focused on implementation and execution. The successful candidate will take ambiguous business problems, understand the underlying systems and technical tradeoffs, translate decisions into executable requirements, and drive delivery through launch and adoption. This person does not need to be an engineer, but must be technically fluent, comfortable working closely with engineering and architecture teams, and have a willingness to challenge whether a proposed solution will work operationally and scale over time.
This is an individual-contributor role for someone who can quickly enter a project, establish structure, connect business and technology teams, and take accountability for delivering complete outcomes. Success in the role requires balancing immediate business needs with long-term technology considerations, making pragmatic decisions that drive results while supporting a scalable and sustainable enterprise platform.
The ideal candidate combines business curiosity, technical fluency, and relentless execution. They are comfortable moving between strategic discussions and implementation details, quickly learning unfamiliar domains, and building trust with stakeholders through consistent delivery. They can assess problems from both a business and technology perspective, challenge assumptions, apply first-principles thinking, and take ownership from initial problem definition through production launch and adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Cross-Platform Implementation - Own technology initiatives from problem definition through implementation, testing, launch, and stabilization. Move fluidly across Salesforce, advisor portals, data platforms, reporting solutions, workflow tools, and operational processes based on team priorities.
- Translate Business Needs into Executable Delivery - Turn ambiguous business problems into clear requirements, process flows, system behaviors, data needs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans. Ensure engineering teams have the clarity required to build effectively.
- Understand Technical Tradeoffs - Partner with engineering, architecture, data, and integration teams to evaluate solution options and dependencies. Understand how decisions affect scalability, maintainability, data quality, user workflows, downstream systems, and long-term platform strategy.
- Drive End-to-End Outcomes - Manage dependencies across business and technology teams and actively resolve issues that could prevent delivery. Stay involved through testing, release readiness, rollout, and post-launch stabilization rather than handing work off after requirements are written.
- Operationalize Solutions - Define how new capabilities will work in practice, including ownership, controls, exception handling, support processes, documentation, and adoption. Ensure solutions can be sustained and scaled after implementation.
- Build Trusted Partnerships - Develop strong relationships across business and technology teams through accountability, transparency, and consistent execution. Communicate progress, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions proactively while maintaining stakeholder trust and alignment.
- Connect Work Across Systems and Teams - Identify when a solution requires coordinated changes across CRM, portals, data, reporting, marketing, investor servicing, and operational platforms. Push for complete business outcomes rather than isolated features or point solutions.
- Drive Execution and Accountability - Create structure in ambiguous environments and translate objectives into actionable plans. Identify dependencies, sequence work effectively, proactively remove blockers, and ensure commitments are delivered with quality and urgency.
- Evaluate and Navigate Technology Tradeoffs - Assess solution options across platforms, applications, and data domains. Balance business priorities, delivery timelines, operational considerations, and long-term architectural goals to recommend solutions that create durable enterprise value rather than isolated point solutions.
- Apply First-Principles Thinking - Challenge assumptions and approach problems with curiosity and critical thinking. Develop a deep understanding of the underlying business objective and evaluate solutions through the lens of both business value and enterprise technology strategy.
Qualifications:
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience in consulting, financial services, technology delivery, business analysis, project leadership, product implementation, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience leading implementation efforts from requirements through testing, launch, and operational adoption
- Strong technical fluency, including the proficiency to understand system architecture, integrations, APIs, data flows, environments, and technical dependencies
- Experience working directly with engineers, architects, data teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
- Skill to evaluate technical options and clearly explain tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience translating complex business and operational needs into detailed functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows
- Adeptness to enter unfamiliar initiatives, quickly understand the business problem and system landscape, and establish a path to delivery
- Strong execution discipline with experience managing scope, dependencies, risks, milestones, testing, release readiness, and post-launch issues
- Proven experience building credibility and trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the facility to simplify complex concepts and influence decision-making across distinct audiences
- Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrated skill to learn new business domains, technologies, and operating models quickly
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the competence to challenge assumptions and apply first-principles thinking
- Comfortable operating as an individual contributor across multiple projects and technology domains simultaneously
- Experience with Salesforce or another enterprise CRM platform strongly preferred
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, reporting tools, data platforms, and cloud-based enterprise applications preferred
- Financial Services or Wealth Management experience is helpful but not required
