The Company
PayPal has been revolutionizing commerce globally for more than 25 years. Creating innovative experiences that make moving money, selling, and shopping simple, personalized, and secure, PayPal empowers consumers and businesses in approximately 200 markets to join and thrive in the global economy.
We operate a global, two-sided network at scale that connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers. We help merchants and consumers connect, transact, and complete payments, whether they are online or in person. PayPal is more than a connection to third-party payment networks. We provide proprietary payment solutions accepted by merchants that enable the completion of payments on our platform on behalf of our customers.
We offer our customers the flexibility to use their accounts to purchase and receive payments for goods and services, as well as the ability to transfer and withdraw funds. We enable consumers to exchange funds more safely with merchants using a variety of funding sources, which may include a bank account, a PayPal or Venmo account balance, PayPal and Venmo branded credit products, a credit card, a debit card, certain cryptocurrencies, or other stored value products such as gift cards, and eligible credit card rewards. Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.
Our beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day. We live each day guided by our core values of Inclusion, Innovation, Collaboration, and Wellness. Together, our values ensure that we work together as one global team with our customers at the center of everything we do – and they push us to ensure we take care of ourselves, each other, and our communities.

The Manager, Finance – Credit Controllership & Financial Reporting, is a hands-on finance role responsible for the preparation, execution and review of accounting, close, financial reporting, and control activities for PayPal’s credit portfolio. This role provides strong financial stewardship over credit products and related transactions, including loan receivables, expected credit losses, fair-value and valuation adjustments, credit asset sales, ABS/securitisation activities and related balance-sheet and P&L reporting.
The role combines technical accounting expertise, operational execution, analytical review, and control discipline. It partners closely with Credit, Risk, Treasury, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Regulatory Reporting, Global Controllership, and the Controllership CoE in India to ensure that credit activities are accurately reflected in the books and records, appropriately controlled and supported by robust documentation and audit evidence.
The successful candidate will be expected to challenge data, assumptions, and accounting outcomes, resolve issues end-to-end, and convert complex credit activity into clear financial reporting and management insight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Controllership & Month-End Close
· Own day-to-day finance execution for assigned credit portfolios, ensuring transactions are completely and accurately reflected in the general ledger and financial reporting.
· Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, accruals, reclassifications and close deliverables for credit-related balance sheet and P&L accounts.
· Perform monthly close activities for credit products, including analysis of receivables, interest and fee income, credit losses, valuation movements, write-offs, and recoveries.
· Investigate unusual movements, data breaks, and reconciliation differences; determine root causes and drive issues to resolution.
· Prepare monthly management reporting and analytics that explain portfolio movements, financial performance, key drivers, and emerging risks.
2. Credit Products & Portfolio Accounting
· Build and maintain a strong understanding of PayPal credit products, including consumer and merchant credit, revolving and instalment products, and portfolios originated, purchased, or sold by PayPal entities.
· Execute and review accounting for credit asset purchases, transfers, sales, and related settlement flows, including assessment of balance-sheet presentation, gain/loss recognition and supporting reconciliations.
· Support accounting for credit asset sales, forward-flow arrangements, ABS/securitisation structures and related funding or servicing arrangements, including preparation of transaction accounting papers and audit support.
· Partner with Credit and Treasury to understand portfolio structure, contractual terms, funding arrangements and changes affecting accounting or reporting.
· Maintain robust accounting documentation for significant and non-routine credit transactions and ensure conclusions are clearly supported by the applicable accounting framework.
3. ECL, Credit Losses & Valuation
· Prepare, review, and challenge the financial reporting impact of expected credit loss (ECL) and related credit-loss estimates, including data, staging, model outputs, overlays, and management adjustments.
· Coordinate with Credit Risk and Model teams to understand changes in PD, LGD, EAD, macroeconomic scenarios, calibration, and model methodology, and assess the financial reporting implications.
· Perform analytical review of allowance movements, including originations, derecognitions, changes in credit risk, model changes, write-offs, and recoveries.
· Support valuation and fair-value accounting for credit portfolios where applicable, including review of cash-flow forecasts, discount-rate assumptions, and valuation adjustments.
· Ensure appropriate documentation of key judgments, estimates, sensitivities and management overlays for financial reporting and audit purposes.
4. Financial Reporting, IFRS / Local GAAP & Regulatory Requirements
· Prepare and review financial statement and management reporting outputs relating to credit activities under IFRS, US GAAP and/or applicable local GAAP requirements, as relevant to the entity.
· Prepare and maintain accounting bridges and reconciliations between local GAAP and IFRS where required.
· Support statutory, prudential, and other regulatory reporting by providing accurate credit-related data, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
· Monitor changes in accounting and regulatory requirements affecting credit products and translate them into practical actions for Finance and Business stakeholders.

· Work with Internal Audit, SOX, Risk, Compliance and external auditors on credit-related findings, testing, and remediation.
· Ensure finance procedures and control documentation remain current as credit products, systems and processes evolve.

· Work with the CoE as an execution partner for close, reconciliations, journal preparation, reporting packs, and control activities.
· Provide clear priorities, accounting guidance, and quality expectations; review outputs and resolve exceptions rather than relying solely on high-level oversight.
