The Opportunity for You

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect – ERP Platforms to join our vibrant Technology Strategy and Transformation practice. You will help clients shape the strategy, architecture and transformation roadmap for the ERP platforms at the heart of their digital core, connecting business priorities across finance, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, HR and operations with practical technology choices.

We do not expect every candidate to be an expert in every ERP product or business domain. We value architects who can take an enterprise-wide view, work across SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable platforms, and bring the judgement to balance standardisation, innovation, risk, cost and delivery feasibility.

In this role, you will define and govern ERP platform strategies, target architectures and transition roadmaps that enable business transformation and measurable value. You will work closely with senior business and technology leaders, process owners, programme teams, solution and integration architects, data and security specialists, platform vendors and delivery partners to create coherent, scalable and supportable solutions.

What you will help clients do:

  • Define ERP platform strategies, architecture principles, target states and multi-year transformation roadmaps aligned to business strategy.
  • Assess complex ERP estates, including legacy instances, customisations, technical debt, integrations, data, controls and operating-model constraints.
  • Shape platform selection, cloud adoption, consolidation and modernisation options across SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and wider enterprise applications.
  • Design global template and clean-core approaches that maximise standard capability while managing justified local, regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Define how ERP platforms integrate with data, analytics, AI, cloud, CRM, HCM, planning, manufacturing and other digital platforms.
  • Establish architecture governance, standards, decision forums and design assurance across programmes and product teams.
  • Develop business cases and investment roadmaps that connect architecture decisions to value, risk, resilience, cost and time to outcome.
  • Advise on responsible use of AI, automation and agentic capabilities within ERP-enabled business processes and platform operations.
  • Facilitate executive workshops and architecture forums, explaining complex trade-offs clearly and helping stakeholders reach informed decisions.
  • Provide architecture leadership through implementation, migration, cutover and post-go-live evolution while coaching client and internal teams.

What you will do

  • Translate business capabilities and process ambitions into enterprise-wide ERP platform architecture.
  • Create current-state, target-state and transition architectures spanning applications, integrations, data, security, infrastructure and service management.
  • Lead option assessments and trade-off decisions covering SaaS, private cloud, hybrid and best-of-breed landscapes.
  • Partner with programme and delivery leaders to manage architecture risks, dependencies, design integrity and value realisation.
  • Contribute to proposals, client conversations, thought leadership and the development of reusable ERP architecture assets.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in enterprise or solution architecture, ERP transformation, technology consulting or a related field.
  • Experience shaping or governing large-scale ERP programmes, platform modernisation or digital-core transformation.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major ERP ecosystem, such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP or Microsoft Dynamics 365, with the ability to work across broader enterprise landscapes.
  • Ability to engage senior business and technology stakeholders and influence decisions across multiple teams and partners.
  • Experience producing architecture artefacts, principles, standards, roadmaps and investment recommendations.
  • Relevant architecture or ERP certifications are welcome but are not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.

Core skills we expect everyone to bring

  • AI awareness and curiosity: a practical understanding of how AI, data, and automation are changing businesses, technology functions, and delivery methods.
  • Strong communication and storytelling: the ability to explain complex ideas clearly, tailor messages for different audiences, and build confidence with stakeholders.
  • Project and change skills: experience helping teams plan, organise, govern, and deliver change in complex environments.
  • Business and technology judgement: the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes, value, risk, cost, and feasibility.
  • Collaboration and adaptability: comfort working across multidisciplinary teams, learning new domains quickly, and contributing beyond a narrow specialism.
  • Structured problem solving: the ability to break down ambiguity, identify options, build evidence-based recommendations, and move work forward.

Experience across several of these areas

Candidates should bring skills or experience across several of the areas below. These are the kinds of things our teams do; they are not all mandatory requirements for every candidate.

  • ERP strategy and portfolio architecture: platform rationalisation, product selection, global templates, deployment models and investment roadmaps.
  • Business-process and functional architecture across areas such as finance, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, asset management, projects or HR.
  • Application, integration and data architecture, including APIs, event-driven integration, master data, migration, analytics and reporting.
  • Cloud ERP and modernisation approaches, including clean core, composable extensions, SaaS release management and hybrid landscapes.
  • Architecture governance, security, controls, resilience, non-functional requirements and regulatory or localisation considerations.
  • AI-enabled ERP, intelligent automation and process insight, with an understanding of responsible adoption, data readiness and human oversight.
  • Transformation roadmap, programme assurance, vendor collaboration, benefits realisation and operating-model design.

Who will thrive in this role

  • Architects who connect business processes, platform capabilities, data, integration and operating-model decisions into one coherent view.
  • People who can work at executive level while remaining grounded in delivery realities and implementation trade-offs.
  • Collaborative leaders who challenge constructively, simplify complexity and build alignment across clients, vendors and delivery teams.
  • Curious professionals who are comfortable learning across platforms and domains rather than being defined by one product specialism.
