Job Description:

Job Title – Systems Engineer - Application Packaging & Profile Management

The Purpose of This Role

The Application Packaging and Profile Management team is a key part of End User Computing within Associate IT. The team is responsible for delivering, maintaining, and optimizing applications used across Fidelity's desktop and virtual environments. You will work closely with business partners, application owners, infrastructure teams, and software vendors to ensure applications are packaged, tested, deployed, and supported efficiently. This role combines technical engineering, customer partnership, and operational excellence to provide a seamless end-user experience.

The Value You Deliver

·    Packaging, repackaging, and maintaining applications for desktop and virtual environments using industry-standard packaging technologies.

·    Collaborating with business and technology partners to gather requirements, coordinate testing activities, and ensure successful application deployments.

·    Engineering and implementing reliable application delivery solutions that improve user experience and operational efficiency.

·    Automating packaging and deployment activities using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.

·    Evaluating new application delivery, profile management, and endpoint management technologies and providing recommendations based on technical analysis.

·    Supporting application lifecycle management activities, including upgrades, remediation, compatibility assessments, and retirement planning.

·    Troubleshooting complex application deployment and configuration issues across Windows environments.

·    Documenting solutions, operational procedures, and engineering standards to improve consistency and scalability.

·    Partnering with cross-functional teams to implement modern workplace solutions and enhance end-user productivity.

Technical /  Behavioral

·    You have strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, including file systems, services, environment variables, registry management, and commonly used command-line tools.

·    You understand Windows Installer technologies and application packaging concepts, including MSI-based deployments.

·    You have hands-on scripting experience using PowerShell for automation, deployment, and troubleshooting activities.

·    You have experience troubleshooting application and operating system issues within enterprise Windows environments.

·    You can collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate complex topics clearly.

·    You use analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate application deployment and configuration issues.

·    You understand profile management concepts and user environment management technologies.

·    You can balance multiple priorities while maintaining attention to quality and customer experience.

The Skills that are Good To Have for this role

·    Experience with Microsoft Intune, Company Portal, and modern endpoint management solutions.

·    Understanding of Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) application deployment processes.

·    Familiarity with application virtualization technologies such as App-V, FlexApp, or similar solutions.

·    Knowledge of Citrix application delivery environments.

·    Experience supporting software lifecycle management initiatives.

·    Understanding  security permissions, application compatibility, and endpoint management best practices.

·    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·    Experience working in collaborative Agile delivery environments.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

·    3+ years of IT experience in application packaging, endpoint management, or desktop engineering.

·    Hands-on experience with MSI packaging technologies and application deployment processes.

·    Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.

·    Experience supporting enterprise Windows desktop environments.

·    Understanding of modern management platforms such as Microsoft Intune.

·    Knowledge of SCCM/MECM application deployment and troubleshooting.

·    Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
