About the role
Original posting provided by Microsoft
We are seeking a Web Compliance Manager to help lead and operationalize Microsoft’s enterprise Web Compliance program, with a primary focus on Accessibility compliance, program management, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and operational excellence.
The Web Compliance program helps protect Microsoft’s legal, regulatory, brand, and reputational interests across approximately 1,300 externally facing Microsoft websites. The program brings together Accessibility, Privacy, Cookies, Security, governance, compliance scanning, automation, and reporting to provide a consolidated view of compliance health across Microsoft’s external web estate.
Each quarter, the team consolidates compliance results across major Microsoft businesses, including Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365, Copilot, Gaming/Xbox, Security, Microsoft AI, and Marketing, providing executive leadership with enterprise-level visibility into compliance health, material risks, and remediation progress.
This role will serve as the primary Accessibility compliance lead for Marketing, partnering with CELA, Accessibility teams, website owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders. Accessibility will be the primary area of ownership, with an expectation that the candidate is familiar with, or open to learning, adjacent Web Compliance areas including Privacy, Cookies, Security, reporting, governance, and audit readiness.
This is a highly matrixed role requiring someone who is diplomatic, collaborative, pragmatic, and a strong communicator. The ideal candidate can navigate organizational friction, competing priorities, and ambiguity while influencing without direct authority and maintaining strong partnerships.
An interest in AI and automation is strongly preferred. Experience with Copilot, agentic workflows, and low-code/no-code solutions is a plus, not a requirement. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and partner with engineering or vendor resources to bring those solutions to life.
Responsibilities
Accessibility Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the primary Accessibility compliance lead for Marketing, including reporting, consultations, assessments, and remediation coordination.
- Partner with CELA (Legal), website owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to drive compliance outcomes.
- Coordinates letter-grade tracking, dashboard, and leadership reporting.
- Drives follow-through with accountable teams.
- Monitor emerging Accessibility requirements and determine potential impacts to processes, reporting, guidance, and technology.
Web Compliance Program Management & Reporting
- Help operate Microsoft’s enterprise Web Compliance program across Accessibility, Privacy, Cookies, Security, governance, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Coordinate priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks, requirements, and cross-functional execution.
- Support quarterly enterprise compliance scorecards, QBR/MBR reporting, audits, evidence collection, remediation tracking, and stakeholder communications.
- Translate complex compliance requirements and program data into clear risks, insights, actions, and recommendations for business and leadership audiences.
- Maintain familiarity with the broader Web Compliance operating model and provide program ownership or support across adjacent areas as business priorities require.
Stakeholder Leadership & Collaboration
- Build trusted relationships across CELA (Legal), Compliance leaders, Privacy, Security, Engineering, Marketing, website-owning teams, vendors, and leadership.
- Navigate complex matrixed environments, organizational friction, and competing priorities while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Bring stakeholders together around shared outcomes and facilitate constructive resolution when perspectives or priorities differ.
- Communicate complex compliance and technical topics clearly to business, Legal, technical, and leadership audiences.
- Influence without authority, establish clear ownership and next steps, and exercise good judgment around when issues require escalation.
Automation & Operational Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve Web Compliance workflows, reporting, remediation, stakeholder support, and audit readiness.
- Explore practical use of AI, Copilot, agentic workflows, and low-code/no-code automation to improve operational efficiency and self-service.
- Translate business problems into automation requirements, lightweight solutions, or prototypes where appropriate.
- Partner with engineering and vendor teams on more complex platform, reporting, integration, and automation needs.
- Ensure solutions maintain appropriate human judgment, quality controls, documentation, and accountability.
Experience with technologies such as Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure DevOps is beneficial. The priority is a strong Accessibility and program leader who understands how technology can improve operations.
