Description

In this role, you will directly manage a team of engineers building new intelligent features for Apple's creative application suite. You will partner closely with product, design, and cross-functional teams to plan and deliver polished, innovative features built on UIKit, AppKit, and modern Apple frameworks. Day-to-day, you will balance hands-on technical engagement with first-line people leadership, including hiring, coaching, and growing the engineers on your team.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers focused on building full stack creative application features across a variety of verticals
Drive planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple concurrent workstreams, keeping your team focused and unblocked
Partner with product management and design to translate creative vision into technically sound, scalable engineering plans
Represent your team's technical decisions in cross-functional reviews and contribute to broader engineering direction within Creator Studio
Identify and resolve technical risks early, escalating when needed and maintaining a clear view of quality and delivery timelines
Champion engineering best practices including code quality, testability, and platform fit across your team's codebase

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of engineering management experience with direct responsibility for a team of individual contributor engineers
Deep expertise in iOS and/or macOS application development using UIKit and/or AppKit
Proven experience delivering complex, consumer-facing Mac and iOS apps from concept through App Store release
Strong background in software architecture, app frameworks, and UI systems at production scale
Track record of building cohesive, high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced product environment
Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions across multiple workstreams with appropriate autonomy
Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C, with a clear sense of what high-quality Apple platform code looks like
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with creative application development, document-based apps, or rich editing experiences on Apple platforms
Familiarity with on-device machine learning integration or intelligent creative tooling within consumer apps
Skilled in navigating cross-functional organizations and aligning designers, product managers, and partner engineering teams around a shared technical direction
Experience contributing to or consuming first-party Apple frameworks, or meaningful knowledge of Apple platform internals
Prior experience managing engineers through significant platform transitions, such as SwiftUI adoption or framework migrations
