Overview

The Enterprise Resilience Team is looking for a Vice President, to primarily be responsible for developing and executing the enterprise resilience strategy to ensure the organization can effectively prevent, respond to, and recover from significant disruptions. This role encompasses Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, Business Resilience, Technology Resilience, Governance, Compliance, and Assurance. The VP will also lead the global exercising and testing program, including coordination with clients and suppliers to ensure end-to-end resilience.

In this role, you will:

Leadership & Strategy

Set and execute against the strategy and direction for Enterprise Resilience which consists of Crisis Management, Service Resilience (Operational) Business Resilience (Continuity), Technical Resilience (Recovery) and Resilience Planning (Governance and Assurance).

Set the vision, mission, strategy, and roadmap for the global Enterprise Resilience function.



Lead and manage a global team, including Directors and other senior leaders, to drive the resilience agenda across all business units.

Facilitate the Enterprise Resilience Steering Committee, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and risk appetite.

Represent, drive, improve and maintain the Enterprise Resilience program to enable Mastercard to support our Clients, Customers and Critical National Infrastructure where appropriate.

Be the Subject Matter Expert across the organisation and provide industry thought leadership with participation in external industry bodies and other forums.

Functional Oversight

Oversee Crisis Management, Operational Resilience, Business Resilience, Technology Resilience, Governance, Compliance, and Assurance functions.

Ensure the development and implementation of robust policies, procedures, and frameworks to manage and mitigate risks.

Ensure the exercising and testing program, conducting regular drills and simulations with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

Manage and control functional budgetary requirements, including staffing plan and program.

Support Emergency events across the organisation, facilitate the response and recovery procedures (including after action activities).

Regulatory Compliance and Governance

Ensure global resilience regulations are identified and understood and ensure compliance across all operations.

Ensure the development and maintenance of a comprehensive governance framework to oversee resilience activities.

Oversee reporting and escalations (where applicable) to the Board of Directors (Risk Committees) and relevant regulatory bodies.

Risk Management and Resilience

Enable the Identification, assessment, and mitigation of resilience related risks and issues that could impact the organization's operations and services.

Oversee the Implementation and maintenance of effective crisis management and response plans, including scenario playbooks.

Develop supply chain resilience, cyber resilience, and cloud resilience programs and ensure they are an integral part of the resilience strategy.

Collaboration and Communication

Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Communicate the resilience strategy and initiatives effectively across the organization. Evangelize the wider benefits and rewards of mature Enterprise Resilience.

Ensure client-facing teams are prepared to address client concerns regarding resilience capabilities.

Continuous Improvement

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and resilience awareness throughout the organization.

Drive a culture of iterative maturity through the continuous (life)cycle process.

Oversee training and development programs to enhance the resilience capabilities of employees.

Learn from past incidents and exercises to continually improve resilience practices.



Role:

Expert level knowledge of Enterprise Resilience and the developing global regulatory landscape.

Expert level knowledge of ITSM and ITAM standards.

Expert level knowledge of Service Resilience End to End (E2E) exercising and testing.

Expert level of knowledge of Cyber Resilience.





All About You:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise resilience, risk management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in leading global teams and managing complex resilience programs in a large, multinational organization.

International certification / accreditation experience (ex. ISO22301).

Extensive knowledge and experience leading and responding to audits and regulatory inspections.

Certified Resilience professional (BCI / DRI).

Extensive experience as a practitioner within Resilience (Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management)

An excellent motivator and leader who possesses exemplary oral and written communication skills. 

Detail driven with high accuracy in delivery.

Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills with the ability to drive vision and mission.

Excellent knowledge of global resilience regulations and best practices.

Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
