Come help organizations be their best, while you reach new heights with a team that has your back.

YOUR IMPACT

As an Account Executive in our State, Local Government, and Higher Education (SLED) sales organization, you will manage direct software sales engagements across designated state, county, municipal, and educational accounts in the Mountain/West region. In this role, you will lead sales cycles from territory prospecting through contract award, renewal, and workload expansion.

  • Deliver on quarterly and annual revenue targets across software licenses, subscriptions, cloud adoption, and professional services.
  • Lead direct customer sales engagements, identifying new opportunities, qualifying agency requirements, and closing enterprise software agreements across SLED accounts.
  • Engage with agency leadership, Chief Information Officers (CIOs), Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), and IT directors to align observability, cybersecurity, and data analytics software with government modernization mandates.
  • Partner with regional Cisco sales counterparts, Value-Added Resellers (VARs), and System Integrators to co-sell and position software solutions on public sector cooperative contract vehicles (e.g., NASPO ValuePoint, OMNIA, state-specific master contracts).
  • Collaborate with internal technical resources (Sales Engineers, Customer Success Managers, and Solutions Architects) to deliver software demonstrations and proof-of-value (PoV) evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate quarterly territory sales forecasts, opportunity qualification data, and customer activity logs in CRM tools.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enterprise Software Sales Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct quota-carrying software, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), or cloud technology sales experience selling to commercial enterprise or Public Sector accounts.
  • SLED Domain Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct quota-carrying software sales experience selling directly to State, Local Government, or Higher Education (SLED) accounts within the Western / Mountain United States.
  • Quota Attainment: Verifiable track record of meeting or exceeding annual quota assignments in enterprise software sales.
  • Travel Commitment: Willingness and ability to travel up to 30–40% within the assigned territory for on-site customer meetings, technical demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Work Authorization: Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, OR equivalent practical experience (defined as a minimum of 4 years of additional relevant professional software sales experience in lieu of a degree).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of direct quota-carrying software sales experience calling on State and Local Government agencies or Higher Education institutions within the State of Utah (UT).
  • 3 or more years of experience selling subscription, SaaS, or multi-tenant cloud software platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience co-selling with regional channel partners, SLED contracts/cooperatives (e.g., NASPO ValuePoint, OMNIA, TIPS), and Value-Added Resellers (VARs).
  • Domain experience selling within the cybersecurity, SIEM, enterprise observability, log analytics, or IT operations software markets.
  • Practical proficiency applying structured enterprise sales methodologies (such as MEDDPICC, Force Management / Command of the Message, or Challenger Sale) for territory management and opportunity qualification.
