The Worldwide Grocery Private Brands team is looking for a Product Quality Manager who is passionate about ensuring our products meet or exceed customer expectations. You will join a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative work environment where you will help build and scale our business across physical stores and online channels in North America.
This role ensures that products are consistently produced and meet our quality expectations. You will drive activities across several stakeholder teams including Product Development, Category Managers, Food Safety, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and suppliers to ensure the maintenance of quality expectations for our food and other CPG items. The position focuses on monitoring product performance of launched products, managing trend analysis, customer complaint issue identification, and facilitating product and process improvement initiatives with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams.
This is a hands-on role that combines product quality management with laboratory work. In addition to driving quality programs, you will conduct and oversee quality assurance testing, including first production testing, shelf-life verification, and consumer complaint investigations, while maintaining accurate documentation, laboratory equipment, and retention sample inventory. You will also leverage data and mechanisms to identify defects, track quality performance, and drive improvements that maintain customer trust in our brands and products.
The right person for this role must be customer obsessed and enjoy using data and mechanisms to drive improvements. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, comfortable working with data and identifying trends from large data sets, have high attention to detail, a strong vision for quality standards and programs, and the ability to develop sound recommendations for product and process improvements. This candidate must be able to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams, earn trust and influence others, be solution oriented, have solid problem-solving skills, communicate clearly (verbal and written) with technical and non-technical teams alike, and be motivated by a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Key job responsibilities
- Support a robust product quality program across both pre-launch and post-launch initiatives.
- Conduct and oversee laboratory quality testing, including first production testing, shelf-life verification, and consumer complaint investigations; execute testing protocols and document results accurately in designated quality data management systems, adhering to standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, perform calibration, and manage retention sample inventory and storage monitoring.
- Support the Quality Surveillance program to monitor product performance post-launch, analyzing large sets of customer feedback data (ratings, concessions, complaints) to identify product, process, and supplier improvement opportunities and drive improvement initiatives.
- Support business selection health assessments, influencing cross-functional teams based on quality performance metrics to drive remediation, reformulation, or product discontinuation decisions.
- Use and help optimize quality dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track program, product, and supplier performance metrics.

A day in the life
No two days look exactly alike in this role, but most blend hands-on lab work with product quality program management. You might start your morning in the laboratory, running first-production or shelf-life testing on newly launched items and documenting results in our quality systems, then shift to reviewing customer feedback trends (ratings, concessions, and complaints) to spot emerging quality issues. Throughout the week, you will partner closely with a product category, supporting the product quality development of new items from early formulation through launch, helping ensure quality requirements are built in from the start. By midday, you could be working with Product Development, Food Safety, or a supplier on a defect investigation or a business selection health assessment, translating what the data and the bench tell you into concrete remediation or reformulation recommendations. Afternoons often involve maintaining lab equipment and retention samples, refining a quality dashboard, or preparing performance metrics to influence cross-functional decisions. Throughout, you will balance the precision of laboratory testing with the bigger-picture work of keeping our food and other CPG items meeting the quality standards our customers expect.
