DESCRIPTION
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Marketing Manager and contribute to meaningful impact on a global scale. In this role, you will provide leadership across strategic marketing initiatives, programs, and cross-functional teams while partnering with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
You will combine marketing expertise, leadership, and operational excellence to strengthen execution across the Transplant Diagnostics Division (TDX). This role requires the ability to lead through influence, align diverse stakeholders and resources around shared priorities, and translate strategy into effective execution.
How you will make an impact
You will help the Transplant Diagnostics Division (TDX) Marketing function operate with greater effectiveness, consistency, and speed by translating strategy into execution-ready content, programs, and workflows.
You will provide leadership across cross-functional teams and initiatives, establishing clarity around priorities, roles, expectations, and deliverables while enabling stakeholders and partners to work effectively toward shared objectives. You will also own the working relationship between TDX Marketing and the Studio as shared creative and production capabilities evolve, helping ensure resources remain aligned to TDX priorities and delivery expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Team Enablement
• Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives through influence, establishing clear priorities, roles, expectations, and accountability for delivery.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and subject-matter leadership to colleagues and partners to strengthen capabilities and enable effective execution.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable environment across teams and help stakeholders navigate changing priorities, processes, and ways of working.
Marketing Enablement
• Partner with subject matter experts and product stakeholders to translate strategic input into clear briefs, messaging direction, content outlines, and campaign requirements.
• Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, editorial standards, content guidance, and version-control practices that support consistency, compliance, and brand alignment.
• Ensure requests are complete and execution-ready and convert business input into practical deliverables for campaign tactics, sales tools, and related marketing assets.
• Standardize and simplify recurring marketing activities to reduce execution burden on Product Managers and other stakeholders.
Integrated Marketing Programs
• Lead execution of selected downstream programs such as webinars, video initiatives, organic social activity, and related campaign tactics.
• Manage webinar and video content from planning through publication, including content development, speaker/moderator or external partner coordination, reviews, promotion, and follow-through.
• Lead and coordinate stakeholders and partners to support timely, consistent delivery of marketing tactics.
Workflow Optimization
• Design and refine end-to-end workflows for marketing assets and sales tools using Workfront or similar tools, including intake, prioritization, approvals, handoffs, and service-level expectations.
• Clarify roles, decision rights, and required inputs across TDX and support teams.
• Identify bottlenecks, rework, and approval delays; use cycle time, throughput, and handoff quality to drive practical improvements.
• Lead adoption of improved processes and ways of working across key stakeholder groups.
The Studio and Shared-Capability Operating Model
• Own the day-to-day business relationship between TDX Marketing and the Studio, serving as the primary TDX Marketing counterpart as capabilities and services evolve.
• Define and maintain the working model for engagement with the Studio and other shared support teams, including intake, prioritization, required inputs, handoffs, turnaround expectations, and escalation paths.
• Partner with Studio leadership and TDX stakeholders to clarify service scope, assess demand and delivery performance, resolve service gaps, and drive improvement actions.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Act as a central coordination point across Product Marketing, Marketing Communications, Commercial/Sales, regional teams, functional stakeholders, and shared support teams.
• Keep expectations, timing, dependencies, and ownership clear; determine when work is ready to proceed and escalate risks when needed.
• Provide leadership across complex, cross-functional initiatives where successful execution requires coordination and alignment of multiple stakeholders and resources.
AI Enablement
• Identify and prioritize practical marketing use cases where AI can improve productivity, content quality, consistency, or speed.
• Develop reusable AI-enabled content frameworks, prompts, guidance, and training for content creation, adaptation, summarization, and quality assurance, applying appropriate company standards and guardrails.
• Build capabilities across the broader marketing organization and encourage responsible adoption of approved AI-enabled approaches and tools.
• Evaluate impact and scale AI-enabled approaches that demonstrate clear value.
Decision Rights
This role is empowered to lead assigned marketing initiatives and cross-functional work; determine whether marketing requests are ready for execution; request missing information; recommend prioritization based on business need, readiness, dependencies, and capacity; establish expectations and accountability for assigned deliverables; escalate delivery risks; and represent TDX Marketing in the ongoing working relationship with the Studio and other shared support teams.
Measures of Success
• Effective leadership and coordination of cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and resources against TDX Marketing priorities.
• Improved quality and readiness of marketing requests, with reduced cycle time, rework, and avoidable approval delays.
• A clear, effective, and scalable operating model between TDX Marketing, the Studio, and shared support teams.
• Reliable execution and stakeholder experience across assigned marketing programs.
• Demonstrated adoption and measurable value from practical AI-enabled marketing workflows.
REQUIREMENTS
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience, with demonstrated success in B2B or life sciences marketing.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in driving results through influence and collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex initiatives, establish priorities and accountability, and align diverse stakeholders around shared objectives.
• Preferred Fields of Study: Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or related field.
• Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
• Strong data analytics and reporting skills with proficiency in marketing analytics tools.
• Expertise in digital marketing platforms and CRM systems.
• Proven ability to develop strategic marketing plans and drive their implementation.
• Experience managing and optimizing marketing budgets to maximize ROI.
• Excellence in project management and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Strong leadership, influencing, and stakeholder-management capabilities, including the ability to lead effectively across organizational boundaries.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Adobe Experience Manager).
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear marketing messages.
• Knowledge of global marketing best practices and regulations.
• Travel may be required up to 25%.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages welcomed.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $104,100.00–$156,150.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
