Ready to do the most impactful work of your career? At Coinbase, we are uncompromising on our mission to increase economic freedom. The bar is high, the environment is intense, and we like it that way. This isn't a place for complacency, it’s a place to be pushed past your perceived limits. If you're ready to build the future of finance alongside people who refuse to settle for "good enough," you belong here. Coinbase is a remote-first, but not remote-only company. Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.” learn more about working at Coinbase.

As an Associate, Broker Dealer Operations, you'll join the Coinbase Capital Markets team within Finance and help run the daily operational engine behind our U.S. equities brokerage experience. This team keeps customer accounts, trades, cash, positions, transfers, and corporate actions accurate, controlled, and scalable. You'll execute core broker-dealer workflows, investigate exceptions, and drive improvements that make the operation safer and more efficient for millions of customers.

What you'll do:

  • Execute daily trade, position, balance, and cash reconciliations between Coinbase and Apex records, investigating and resolving breaks with full documentation.
  • Support customer account onboarding and maintenance workflows, including documentation review, status follow-up, and exception escalation.
  • Process inbound and outbound securities transfers (ACATs) end-to-end, from intake review and eligibility checks through submission, tracking, and exception resolution.
  • Monitor operational alerts and exception queues, prioritize customer- and risk-impacting issues, and coordinate remediation across Engineering, Product, Trading, CX, Compliance, Finance, and Apex.
  • Support corporate action operations by reviewing event notices, monitoring deadlines, validating allocations, and investigating post-event discrepancies.
  • Identify recurring failure modes and propose practical improvements to reduce manual work, shorten resolution time, and improve customer outcomes.

Required skills and experience:

  • 2+ years in financial services operations, brokerage operations, clearing and settlement, trade support, or a related operational control function.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. equities trade lifecycle concepts, including order processing, settlement, positions, cash movements, corporate actions, and account transfers.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating data breaks or operational exceptions across multiple systems and driving issues to documented resolution.
  • Proven ability to follow documented procedures consistently in a regulated environment while exercising sound judgment on exceptions outside the runbook.
  • Familiarity with clearing platforms (e.g., Apex Clearing), Jira, SQL, or workflow-automation tools used in brokerage operations.
  • Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
