Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Are you a results-driven operations leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and solving complex challenges at scale? Amazon is looking for a Senior Manager, Operations to lead fulfillment center operations and drive meaningful improvements across safety, people experience, and operational performance. In this role, you will own the strategy and execution for a large operational function, influencing outcomes that directly impact millions of customers. You will lead through systems and mechanisms rather than individual execution, translating data into actionable insights while creating an environment where your teams can do their best work. If you are energized by the opportunity to shape how a world-class supply chain operates and to develop the next generation of leaders, this role is for you.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead a large fulfillment center operations function, establishing scalable processes and performance mechanisms that drive safety, quality, and productivity outcomes across your organization.
- Build, coach, and develop a team of operations leaders by providing continuous feedback, identifying growth opportunities, and creating an inclusive environment where all team members contribute and thrive.
- Analyze operational data from multiple sources to identify trends, solve complex problems through root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions that improve long-term performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with site leadership and partner teams to align on strategic priorities, integrate plans across departments, and drive collective success during both steady-state and peak operations.
- Champion a culture of safety by modeling safe behaviors, incorporating safety considerations into operational planning, and ensuring your team consistently meets or exceeds safety standards.

A day in the life
You start your day reviewing key operational metrics and connecting with your leadership team to align on priorities. From there, you may walk the floor to observe processes firsthand, coach a frontline manager through a challenging situation, or lead a cross-functional meeting to address a capacity constraint. You spend time reviewing safety performance data, preparing a strategic narrative for senior leadership, and evaluating a new process improvement your team has piloted. Throughout it all, you balance tactical problem-solving with longer-term planning to keep your operation running smoothly.

About the team
Our fulfillment operations team is at the heart of Amazon's promise to customers. We work together to move products efficiently and safely from our facilities to customers' doorsteps, and we are always looking for smarter ways to do it. Our team values collaboration, continuous improvement, and a genuine commitment to the people who make it all happen. As we continue to grow, we are investing in new technologies and operational strategies that will shape the future of fulfillment. This is an exciting time to join and make a lasting impact.
