Title and Summary

Director, Product Management

Who is Mastercard?
Mastercard is a global technology company in the payments industry. Our mission is to connect and power an inclusive, digital economy that benefits everyone, everywhere by making transactions safe, simple, smart, and accessible. Using secure data and networks, partnerships and passion, our innovations and solutions help individuals, financial institutions, governments, and businesses realize their greatest potential.
Our decency quotient, or DQ, drives our culture and everything we do inside and outside of our company. With connections across more than 210 countries and territories, we are building a sustainable world that unlocks priceless possibilities for all.

Overview
Mastercard's Global Acceptance & Merchant Solutions focuses on making Mastercard the best way to pay everywhere. With our powerful suite of payment products, we are working on shaping the payments experiences of the future. At its essence, building acceptance is about driving the secular shift from cash to electronic payments, with the promise of giving consumers the best payment experience – one that’s fast, convenient and secure.

The In-Person Acceptance team is looking for a Director to own the programmatic foundation and enablement model for our contactless innovation portfolio – including Tap to More and new acceptance programs. Contactless now represents over 80% of in-person switched transactions on our network, and we are extending that same tap technology to entirely new commerce use cases and seller segments. This role will drive cross-functional initiatives, ensuring those programs are clearly governed, scalable, and technically enabled so partners can move from concept to pilot to commercial launch. Because formal industry standards do not yet exist in many of these areas, the ideal candidate is intellectually curious, comfortable creating structure in ambiguity, and equally credible from a technical discussion to an executive readout.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Define, maintain, and evolve program rules, processes, and documentation for Tap to More and new in-person acceptance programs, including program guides, enrollment forms, and go to market materials.
• Manage pilot onboarding, lifecycle tracking, and program readiness across regions – from intake and approval through launch, learnings, and commercialization.
• Enable new use cases through third-party partners and internal product teams, partnering with Security, MACS, MDES, Send and others to evolve product roadmaps.
• Maintain relationships with fintechs, solution providers, PSPs, and other industry partners to ensure program compliance and identify new acceptance innovation opportunities.

All about you
• Strong payments industry knowledge, with working expertise across in-person acceptance, contactless, mobile point of sale, tokenization, authentication and / or the acquiring value chain.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels within a global, matrixed organization without direct authority
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive, commercial, and partner audiences
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where no established playbook or industry standard yet exists, while managing multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously
• Strategic thinker and problem solver who can identify customer / partner pain points, translate learnings into program decisions, and drive results end to end
• Technical fluency and/or experience with industry standards, specifications, and certification processes (for example EMVCo, PCI, MPoC, MTIP) is a plus
