Global Finance Services (GFS) is a key part of AstraZeneca’s Finance function, responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, and easy-to-operate transactional finance processes. GFS supports core finance processes across record to report, purchase to pay, order to cash, and data management, while also supporting AstraZeneca’s cash focus through effective management of supplier and customer payment terms and practices.


GFS operates globally through a combination of in-house teams and outsourced business process support. As part of AstraZeneca’s ongoing Finance Transformation journey, GFS continues to evolve its global process-focused operating model to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.


The Senior Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for managing credit risk across an assigned portfolio of customer accounts. The role ensures the consistent application of AstraZeneca’s credit policy, conducts periodic credit reviews, assesses the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, and supports the business in making informed credit decisions. The role works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Financial Controllers, Collections, and Order Release teams to minimize doubtful debt, manage credit exposure, resolve customer account queries, and support sustainable business growth.


Typical Accountabilities

  • Perform scheduled credit reviews for assigned customer accounts, including analysis of financial statements, financial ratios, credit reference agency reports, trade references, and other relevant information.
  • Prepare credit recommendations and determine the level of credit risk involved in extending or maintaining credit, in line with AstraZeneca’s credit policy.
  • Monitor customer account status, credit alerts, payment performance, and other indicators of potential risk, escalating significant concerns to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer credit master data, documentation, risk classifications, and credit records.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly credit risk reports to ensure that accounts have appropriate risk categories, credit reviews are completed within the required schedule, and credit limits are sufficient for business needs.
  • Review orders prior to manual release and escalate significant credit risks or policy exceptions as appropriate.
  • Independently manage transaction-processing activities, including the resolution of complex customer account queries and investigations within agreed timelines and company guidelines.
  • Review compliance with key controls documented under the Financial Control Framework and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Review and approve credit proposals prepared by Credit Analysts.
  • Work collaboratively with Customer Service, Sales Account Managers, Financial Controllers, Order Release, and Collections teams to ensure that relevant stakeholders understand customer credit risks and required actions.
  • Participate in monthly credit, order release, and collections reviews with the relevant markets and stakeholders.
  • Act as a pois advertised.int of escalation for credit risk, systems, processes, and project-related queries, providing advice and support where required.
  • Provide cover for the Team Lead during periods of absence and support ad hoc requests and improvement initiatives.
  • Make adjustments, handle queries, and resolve credit-related problems in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Deliver accurate and timely work, reports, and key performance indicators in line with agreed service levels and credit targets.

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent discipline.
  • 3-4 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably within a business-to-business environment.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyse financial information and clearly communicate credit exposure, risk assessments, and complex credit matters to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, with a customer-focused approach to developing effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to promote a positive and inclusive working environment.
