Overview

Microsoft’s Total Rewards organization is looking for a strategic and analytical global equity compliance professional to join our team as a Senior Global Stock Compliance Manager. This is an opportunity to help deliver and evolve Microsoft’s broad-based equity programs—including stock awards and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) across more than 90 countries while maintaining strong compliance, operational excellence, and employee experience.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on global equity compliance, regulatory change, international reporting, and mobility taxation. You will partner across Tax, Legal, Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, Global Mobility, external advisors, and local subsidiaries to translate complex requirements into practical, scalable solutions.

This role requires a unique blend of global equity expertise, program and change management, analytical rigor, and clear communication. The successful candidate can navigate ambiguity, manage multiple time-sensitive workstreams, and lead stakeholders through regulatory and operational change by translating complex tax and regulatory considerations into actionable guidance.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees, we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day, we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

  • Manage stock and ESPP components of international securities, tax, and regulatory filings and reporting; coordinate data collection and validation with subsidiaries and external advisors to deliver accurate submissions on time and support audits and ad hoc country requests.

  • Maintain global equity compliance guidance, tax memos, award documentation, employee and subsidiary communications, training materials, and intranet content so stakeholders understand and consistently execute country requirements.
  • Strengthen compliance governance through documented controls, recurring compliance calendars, risk and issue tracking, data-quality reviews, and process improvements that increase scalability, accuracy, and operational resilience.
  • Serve as a global equity compliance subject matter expert and trusted advisor; contribute requirements, test cases, and business acceptance testing for equity-system enhancements and provide cross-functional support during annual rewards, broad-based vesting, year-end, and other critical events.
