Job Description

Visa is seeking a proactive and business-minded attorney to join its Legal team supporting Visa Consulting & Analytics ("VCA"). VCA provides consulting, analytics, implementation support, and managed services to Visa's clients, including financial institutions, fintech's, merchants, processors, and public sector organizations around the world.

This position will report to a Senior Managing Counsel within Visa's Global Product, IP & Services Legal team and will support VCA and other Value-Added Services initiatives. As a trusted advisor to the business, this attorney will provide practical, solution-oriented legal guidance on a broad range of commercial, product, data, and regulatory matters.

The successful candidate will work closely with business leaders, product teams, privacy, regulatory, compliance, and regional legal colleagues to support innovative client offerings and strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a collaborative attorney who enjoys solving complex problems, managing multiple priorities, and helping the business achieve its objectives while appropriately managing legal and regulatory risk.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice in support of VCA's consulting, analytics, implementation, and managed service offerings.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consulting agreements, statements of work, data-related agreements, pilot arrangements, and strategic client engagements.
• Advise on legal, regulatory, privacy, intellectual property, data use, and commercial considerations arising from new products, services, and business initiatives.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and balance legal and regulatory risks against commercial objectives.
• Support the development and launch of new VCA offerings and strategic growth initiatives.
• Review and advise on client-facing materials, methodologies, reports, marketing content, and other business deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Privacy, Data Policy, Compliance, Regulatory Legal, Product Legal, Finance, and Risk functions.
• Assist in developing scalable legal processes, templates, playbooks, and training materials to drive operational efficiency and consistency.
• Monitor and help assess evolving legal and regulatory developments that may impact VCA's products, services, or business strategies.
• Contribute to broader Value-Added Services and Product Legal initiatives as needed.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
• Current member in good standing of a State Bar with the ability to become barred or a registered in-house counsel in the state where this role is located.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or combination thereof.

• 3-6 years of relevant legal experience, including experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements.
• Valid license to practice in the state where the job is located or the ability to become state registered in-house counsel in good standing
• Experience advising clients on technology, data, consulting, SaaS, fintech, payments, or other commercial transactions.
• Excellent judgment and ability to assess legal risk in the context of business objectives.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical business advice.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional and global teams preferred.
• Familiarity with financial services, payments, data analytics, artificial intelligence, or technology-driven businesses is a plus.

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $152,900.00 to $ 237,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
