Pay Transparency
The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is zł156,800 - zł257,600 which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Join Visa Direct’s Compliance team and play a key role in supporting the growth of cryptocurrency, stablecoin and blockchain-based payment solutions. Reporting to the Group MLRO, this specialist second line of defence role provides independent oversight, advice and challenge across the full product lifecycle, helping to enable innovation while maintaining robust financial crime and regulatory controls.
Working closely with Product, Technology, Commercial and Compliance teams, you will help develop and strengthen Visa Direct's digital asset compliance framework, support regulatory engagement and licensing activity, and ensure appropriate governance and controls are in place as the business expands its crypto and stablecoin capabilities.

What you'll do
Digital Asset Advisory & Product Support
- Act as the primary Compliance adviser on cryptocurrency, stablecoin and blockchain-based products.
- Provide independent guidance and challenge to business, product and control teams from concept through launch, scaling and ongoing management.
- Assess new products and business models, translating regulatory requirements and financial crime risks into practical controls, governance and risk appetite recommendations.
- Partner with stakeholders across Visa and external partners to support responsible innovation while maintaining strong compliance standards.
Risk, Controls & Regulatory Oversight
- Support the development of Visa Direct's digital asset and stablecoin control framework, including governance, policies, risk assessments and control standards.
- Advise on key financial crime controls including blockchain analytics, wallet and sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, investigations, record keeping and Travel Rule requirements.
- Support regulatory engagement, licensing activities and the implementation of regulatory feedback across the business.
- Lead oversight and testing of critical digital asset controls operated by third parties, assessing effectiveness and driving remediation where required.
- Report control weaknesses, incidents and emerging risks to the MLRO and relevant governance forums.
Governance, Reporting & Innovation
- Prepare clear, concise reporting for senior management, committees and boards on digital asset risks, controls and product readiness.
- Collaborate with Compliance teams across Visa regulated entities to align approaches and support cross-entity products.
- Leverage GenAI to enhance compliance research, analysis, reporting and knowledge management.
- Help drive the responsible adoption of GenAI and agentic AI within Compliance, including governance, controls and human oversight requirements.
- Deliver guidance and training to strengthen organisational understanding of digital asset risks, controls and regulatory developments.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Crime or Compliance within payments, fintech, banking or digital assets.
- Strong knowledge of cryptocurrency, stablecoins, blockchain payments and associated regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in financial crime controls including sanctions, transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics, due diligence and Travel Rule obligations.
- Experience assessing new products, managing risk and overseeing third-party controls.
- Ability to engage and influence Product, Technology and Commercial stakeholders while providing independent challenge.
- Strong understanding of UK and international digital asset regulations.
