Principal, TIPM, DC Infra Capacity Delivery

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Rhythm of Business Strategic Lead to join the Data Center Communities (DCC) organization. This role is the strategic connective tissue between DCC leadership and the operating mechanisms that drive decisions — goals, operating plans, business reviews, and the broader rhythm of business. You will own the narrative: translating operational complexity into clear, defensible plans and reviews that land with executive audiences. In this role, you will shape the strategy, not just document it. You will work directly with DCC's senior leadership team to define what we commit to, how we measure progress, and how we communicate both to the broader AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) organization.

Key job responsibilities
Operational Planning (OP1/OP2)
- Own end-to-end OP document development for the organization, from data collection and stakeholder alignment through final narrative for executive review
- Synthesize inputs from function leaders into a cohesive workforce plan with clear assumptions, productivity commitments, and investment rationale
- Partner with Finance to ensure headcount trajectories, productivity assumptions, and cost models are aligned and defensible
- Manage the OP cycle timeline, stakeholder reviews, and iteration process
Goals
- Own DCC's annual goal-setting process — working with VP and directors to define goals that are measurable, aligned to AIS priorities, and appropriately scoped
- Track goal progress through the year, flag risks early, and drive mid-year recalibration where needed
- Ensure goals cascade logically from s-team priorities through org-level commitments to function-level deliverables
Business Reviews
- Support business review content development, structure, and narrative for the organization
- Partner with function leaders to surface the right topics — not just status updates, but the strategic questions that need leadership attention
- Drive pre-reads, prep sessions, and follow-up action tracking
- Ensure business review insights feed back into OP planning and goal recalibration
Strategic Rhythm of Business
- Design and maintain the overall cadence of planning, review, and decision-making mechanisms for the organization
- Identify gaps in how the org makes decisions and propose mechanisms to close them
- Serve as the institutional memory for commitments, decisions, and rationale across planning cycles
- Build relationships across functions (Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, business operation teams) to ensure our organization's mechanisms are calibrated

Basic Qualifications

- Experience delivering against a large organization's long-term strategy and goals
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making, or experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Experience establishing credibility quickly with senior level executives across organizations
- - 10+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, program management, or chief of staff roles in a large-scale operations or infrastructure organization

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in data center engineering or operations, or experience in construction or project management
- Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
- Experience producing executive-level written materials and presenting to executive audiences
- Experience designing business processes
- - Experience with workforce planning, headcount modeling, and productivity analysis
- - MBA or equivalent experience in strategic planning

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
