Frontend Developer (React) - Assistant Vice President

The Frontend Developer (C12) is an intermediate-to-senior level engineering position responsible for leading the design, development, optimization, and implementation of high-performance, accessible, and scalable frontend web applications across enterprise platforms.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy and limited supervision, the candidate will act as a Frontend Subject Matter Expert (SME), collaborating closely with backend engineers, UX/UI designers, product owners, and architecture leads. The candidate will translate complex business workflows into intuitive user interfaces, enforce UI engineering best practices, ensure compliance with security and accessibility standards, and mentor junior developers.

Responsibilities:

• Frontend Architecture & Execution: Design, build, and maintain enterprise web applications using modern Single Page Application (SPA) / Micro-Frontend architectures, predominantly with React.js (or Angular) and TypeScript.
• State Management & Data Integration: Implement robust state management solutions (e.g., Redux Toolkit, Context API, Zustand, or NgRx) and integrate frontend components with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and WebSocket streams.
• Component Design & Reusability: Build and maintain scalable, modular design systems and reusable UI component libraries following WCAG accessibility guidelines and enterprise UX standards.
• Feasibility & Estimates: Conduct feasibility studies, technical spikes, story point sizing, and time/cost estimates for new

• Performance Optimization: Diagnose and resolve frontend bottlenecks, optimizing Core Web Vitals, bundle sizes, rendering paths, lazy loading, and memory footprints.
• Automated Testing: Implement comprehensive test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Security & Vulnerability Management: Enforce frontend security best practices, proactively mitigating vulnerabilities such as Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), Content Security Policy (CSP) violations, and dependency risks.
• CI/CD & Release Governance: Manage code pipelines, build configurations (e.g., Vite, Webpack), automated linting/formatting (ESLint, Prettier), and deployment across development, UAT, and production environments.
• AI-Assisted Development: Leverage AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, internal GenAI assistants) for accelerated scaffolding, test generation, and code reviews.
• Standards & Code Governance: Drive peer code reviews, establish branch strategies, and help define engineering guidelines, coding standards, and documentation.
• Technical Mentorship: Serve as an advisor and coach to junior and mid-level software engineers, fostering continuous technical growth and best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Consult with business users, product managers, and cross-functional technology teams to recommend advanced frontend programming solutions.
• Risk & Control Compliance: Appropriately assess risk when technical and architecture decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding client assets, adhering to internal policies, and escalating/reporting control issues with full transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on modern web/frontend technologies.
• • React.js (Strongly Preferred): React 18+, React Hooks, Custom Hooks, Context API, Redux/Zustand.
  • Angular (Alternative): Angular 14+, RxJS, NgRx, TypeScript.
• • JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript.
  • HTML5, Semantic Markup, CSS3, modern CSS methodologies (SCSS/SASS, CSS Modules, Tailwind CSS).
• Micro-Frontends, Single Page Applications (SPA), Server-Side Rendering (SSR) / Static Generation concepts, Responsive & Adaptive Web Design, REST API & WebSocket integration.
• • Jest, React Testing Library, Jasmine/Karma, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Build & bundle tools: Webpack, Vite, npm/yarn.
  • Version Control: Git / Bitbucket / GitHub Enterprise.
• Web performance profiling (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse), accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA, ARIA attributes), cross-browser compatibility.
• Working knowledge of automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Tekton, Jenkins, Harness), containerization basics (Docker/OpenShift), and static code analysis (SonarQube).
• Familiarity with AI developer productivity tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM-based coding tools).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work under limited supervision; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree / University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
