Job Summary

As an SAP FICO Consultant, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of SAP Finance and Controlling solutions to drive financial efficiency, compliance, and business decision-making with a sharp focus on cost management, product price determination, and profitability analysis.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across finance, accounting, procurement, and operations to ensure alignment of FICO processes with organizational strategy. This role focuses on delivering measurable business impact through digital finance transformation and process excellence.

Working within our SAP Practice, you will engage directly with client finance and operations teams to translate costing strategies into optimized SAP CO solutions. This role demands deep functional expertise in CO-PC, CO-PA, and SAP PS, combined with the ability to drive measurable outcomes such as cost transparency, margin improvement, and streamlined financial closing.

 

Key Value Drivers & Levers

• Product Costing & Price Determination – Designing accurate standard and actual cost estimates, costing variants, and price control strategies that reflect true product economics.
• Profitability Analysis (CO-PA) – Enabling granular margin reporting by product, customer, segment, and region to support strategic business decisions.
• Cost Object Controlling – Tracking costs at production order, process order, or WBS element level for precise variance analysis and performance management.
• Material Ledger & Actual Costing – Leveraging actual costing capabilities in S/4HANA to deliver real-time inventory valuation and actual cost of goods manufactured.
• SAP PS & Project Costing – Integrating project costing, budgeting, and settlement with CO to provide end-to-end project profitability visibility.
• Cross-Module Integration – Ensuring seamless financial data flow across CO, FI, MM, SD, and PP for end-to-end cost and revenue transparency.

 

Roles & Responsibilities (Business Impact Oriented)

• Lead end-to-end configuration and delivery of SAP CO-PC (Product Costing) covering cost estimates, costing runs, costing variants, valuation variants, and cost component structures.
• Design and implement Product Pricing strategies in SAP, including standard price vs. moving average price, price control configuration, and integration with SD condition types and MM valuation.
• Configure Cost Object Controlling for make-to-stock, make-to-order, and project-based manufacturing scenarios, including WIP calculation, variance analysis, and settlement.
• Set up and optimize CO-PA (Profitability Analysis) both costing-based and account-based — to support margin reporting, top-down distribution, and assessment cycles.
• Manage SAP PS integration with CO/FI: WBS element costing, project budgeting, results analysis (RA), settlement to cost objects, and revenue recognition.
• Configure CO organizational structures: controlling area, cost centers, cost center hierarchies, profit centers, and operating concern.
• Partner with client finance, supply chain, and operations stakeholders to gather requirements and translate costing strategies into functional SAP design.
• Drive business impact by improving cost accuracy, reducing financial closing cycle time, and enhancing product margin visibility.
• Prepare and own functional documentation: Business Blueprint (BBP), configuration guides, functional specifications, test scripts, and training materials.
• Lead and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data migration of cost master data, and production cutover activities.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to building CO capability within SAP Practice.

 

Professional & Technical Skills

• Must-Have: Expertise in SAP FICO modules – General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center & Profitability Analysis, Controlling, Product Costing
• Strong ability to design and implement finance and controlling processes with measurable KPIs.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance and legacy systems (ECC) for integration and migration programs.
• Experience in advanced analytics, financial reporting, and process optimization.
• Proven success in stakeholder management, leadership, and large-scale finance transformation programs.

 

Additional Information

Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of delivering business impact through SAP FICO, such as faster financial closing, improved cost control, accurate reporting, and better working capital management, improvements in product cost accuracy, margin visibility, variance reduction, and financial close efficiency. Experience in Manufacturing, Engineering & Construction, Process Industries, or Project-based businesses is a strong advantage.
