Summary

As a Custom Software Engineering Lead specializing in Node.js and AWS development, you will design, build, and support scalable backend and BFF applications for OTT and digital media platforms. The role includes technical design, API development, AWS integration, performance optimization, production support, stakeholder management, and team mentoring.

Roles & Responsibilities

Act as Subject Matter Expert for Node.js and AWS development.
Design and develop backend and BFF services using Node.js and TypeScript.
Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs for catalog, metadata, entitlement, playback, and device management services.
Develop API aggregation layers for Web, Mobile, Smart TV, and Set-Top Box platforms.
Integrate AWS services including Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and Kinesis.
Define API contracts, data models, caching strategies, and resiliency patterns.
Lead feature delivery from design through deployment.
Develop maintainable TypeScript code and automated tests.
Manage dependencies, security updates, and platform upgrades.
Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
Support deployments, release validation, and rollback activities.
Provide effort estimates, technical guidance, and risk assessments.
Mentor developers and collaborate with stakeholders.
Participate in on-call and production support activities.

AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kinesis, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Express.js, Fastify, or NestJS.
Relational and NoSQL databases.
Jest, Mocha, Supertest, and API testing.
Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.
Blue-Green and Canary deployments.
Production support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

OTT, Streaming, Broadcast, or Digital Media platforms.
HLS, DASH, DRM, SSAI, CDN, and Video-on-Demand technologies.
AWS Elemental services and CloudFront.
GraphQL Federation and BFF architecture.
Kafka, Kinesis, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
Kubernetes, EKS, Redis, and container orchestration.
Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, and OpenTelemetry.
AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
ServiceNow and ITSM process knowledge.

Additional Information

Minimum 8 years of relevant Node.js and AWS experience.
Total experience: 15 years (8+7 model).
AWS Developer is the mandatory primary skill.
Experience in Agile, DevOps, and cloud-native environments preferred.
Minimum 15 years of full-time education required.
