Summary:
We are seeking a senior AWS CloudOps / AWS Cloud Network professional at CL8/CL9 level to lead and support network segmentation requirements across a multi-account AWS environment. The role requires strong hands-on capability in AWS networking, security controls, routing, firewall coordination, change governance, and incident resolution. The candidate should be able to work directly with customer stakeholders, application teams, security teams, and infrastructure operations to define, validate, implement, and operationalize segmentation patterns without impacting business-critical workloads.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead AWS network segmentation assessment, planning, implementation support, and operational handover across multi-account and multi-VPC environments.
Review existing AWS network architecture including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway attachments, peering, NAT, endpoints, and shared services connectivity.
Translate application and security requirements into practical segmentation rules, traffic flows, access boundaries, and routing patterns aligned with customer standards.
Drive design and support for segmentation using AWS-native controls such as Security Groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway route tables, AWS Network Firewall, VPC endpoints, and centralized inspection patterns where applicable.
Coordinate with firewall, network, security, application, and database teams for port/protocol validation, dependency mapping, rule implementation, exception handling, and cutover readiness.
Support hybrid connectivity segmentation involving VPN, Direct Connect, on-premises firewall policies, DNS, proxy, and shared network services.
Perform impact analysis for network changes, identify blast-radius risks, define rollback plans, and ensure implementation follows ITSM, change, and approval processes.
Troubleshoot connectivity issues across segmented workloads using AWS tools such as VPC Flow Logs, Reachability Analyzer, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, route analysis, and packet-flow validation.
Create and maintain segmentation runbooks, traffic-flow matrices, implementation trackers, validation evidence, and knowledge articles for recurring CloudOps activities.
Guide junior team members, review implementation plans, provide technical direction during incidents/changes, and act as the senior point of contact for customer-facing discussions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Senior-level experience in AWS Cloud Operations, cloud networking, infrastructure security, or network transformation programs.
Strong hands-on understanding of AWS networking components including VPC, subnetting, route tables, Security Groups, NACLs, NAT Gateway, Internet Gateway, VPC endpoints, Elastic Load Balancing, and DNS integration.
Practical experience with Transit Gateway, VPC peering, centralized/shared services architecture, hybrid connectivity, and cross-account network operations.
Good understanding of network segmentation principles such as least privilege access, zone-based segmentation, traffic-flow control, east-west and north-south traffic separation, and secure workload isolation.
Ability to analyze application dependencies, port/protocol requirements, firewall rules, routing behavior, and connectivity logs to support segmentation design and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of AWS Network Firewall or equivalent cloud/network security controls, including policy validation and coordination with security teams.
Experience managing incidents, service requests, change records, implementation plans, rollback plans, and operational documentation under defined ITSM processes.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical network/security decisions to customer and delivery leadership.
Ability to work independently as a senior contributor, own deliverables end to end, and mentor/support junior CloudOps engineers.

Professional & Technical Skills:
Good to Have
AWS certifications such as Advanced Networking Specialty, Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, SysOps Administrator, or Security Specialty.
Experience with infrastructure as code or automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CLI, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Exposure to enterprise firewall platforms, proxy solutions, DNS/IPAM tools, CMDB, ServiceNow, and network discovery/dependency mapping tools.
Knowledge of governance practices such as tagging standards, landing zone controls, SCPs, IAM boundaries, logging, monitoring, audit evidence, and compliance reviews.
Experience in migration, landing zone hardening, secure environment separation, or application isolation initiatives.

Expected Deliverables
Network segmentation assessment inputs and gap observations.
Traffic-flow and dependency matrix for in-scope workloads.
Segmentation implementation plan, change plan, validation checklist, and rollback approach.
Updated AWS network documentation including VPC, subnet, routing, firewall/SG/NACL rules, and operational runbooks.
Validation evidence for connectivity, isolation, monitoring, and post-change support readiness.

Preferred Profile
Senior CloudOps or AWS Network Security professional suited for CL8/9 responsibilities.
Comfortable working in customer-facing delivery environments with high ownership, structured communication, and strong operational discipline.
Capable of balancing security requirements with application availability and production stability during segmentation rollout.
