Sr. CT Sustaining System Engineer, Customer Terminals Hardware

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). CT Sustaining System Engineer, you will be part of the team developing cost-optimized Customer Terminal products designed for high-volume production. You will own key hardware designs and investigates hardware, component, or system defects post-launch to find root causes and prevent future failures. You will own or contribute to the following:

-Lead End to End (E2E) Root Cause Investigation for complex CT hardware, ASIC, or system failures from field returns and reliability stress tests.
-Evaluate design architectures and component selections to identify opportunities for BOM cost reduction and design simplification
-Perform engineering trade studies to balance product performance, requirements, cost, schedule, and customer experience
-Lead offshore or local engineering teams, set technical strategies, and coordinate with manufacturing and design teams
-Support requirement definition and develop hardware validation and test plans
-Support the development of automated test systems, fixtures, and factory test solutions with an emphasis on minimizing test time and cost
-Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to support component sourcing, alternate qualification, and cost reduction initiatives

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
- 5+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- PMP certification, or SCRUM/Agile, SAFe certification
- Knowledge of digital communication systems, error correction, synchronization, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques, and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK, and QAM

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
