Digital Enterprise Sales (DES), part of Microsoft’s Global Enterprise Sales organization, empowers enterprise customers to achieve their business goals through the unique value of the Microsoft Cloud. Operating across local subsidiaries and Digital Sales centers around the world, DES brings together digital-first customer engagement and partner co-selling to deliver meaningful business outcomes at scale.  As Microsoft continues to modernize its sales motions, Global Enterprise Sales is focused on helping customers transform through AI, Copilot, Security, and the Microsoft Cloud. The Digital Enterprise Sales Azure team plays a critical role in that transformation, helping enterprise customers accelerate their cloud journey across migrations, databases, analytics, and AI.

 

We are seeking a Director of Azure Digital Enterprise Sales to lead a team of Azure Infrastructure and Data & AI Digital Solution Specialists who manage a dedicated portfolio of enterprise customers. In this role, you will coach and enable sellers to identify customer business objectives, build compelling cloud transformation strategies, and deliver best-in-class digital engagement in partnership with Microsoft’s broader sales and partner ecosystem.  AI is fundamentally changing how our customers solve problems, improve efficiency, and drive innovation. As a leader, you will ensure your team stays at the forefront of these advancements and can translate the potential of AI and Azure into actionable solutions and meaningful customer outcomes. We’re seeking candidates based in the Dallas, Atlanta, or Fargo markets who can regularly commute to a Microsoft office. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a thought leader in digital transformation across solution areas to advise customers and represent Microsoft, leading and coaching on transformational shifts to drive deployment and create business value for customers based on specific business needs and priorities. Leads a virtual cross-organizational team on strategic projects and high-impact solution sales deployments that enable digital transformation and deliver business value.
  • Leads their teams to identify and track new opportunities. Leverages stakeholders (e.g., account-aligned team unit) to build pipeline within the territory, coaching on interfacing with prospective customers to build network.
  • Collaborates with other managers to support their team and/or other teams (e.g., account team units [ATUs]) to identify and engage internal and external senior business or subject matter decision makers.
  • Communicates strategies to their team to accelerate the closing of deals and coaches others on the implementation of close plans to de-risk and drive predictable deal closure.
  • Guides the team to build a network of partners to cross-sell, up-sell, and co-sell. Helps the team identify new partners, evaluate partner capabilities, and supports on-boarding new partners.
  • Coaches the team on business and market knowledge. Coaches team on ways to collaborate internally to position Microsoft products, solutions, and/or services against competitors.
  • Oversees the end-to-end business of the assigned territory with in-depth knowledge of Industry, Cloud infrastructure, application development, data or AI landscapes


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 7+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience OR 9+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

 

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (e.g., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 10+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience OR 11+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.
  • 6+ years of solution or services sales experience.
  • 3+ year(s) of people management experience.
  • Experience leading and coaching complex strategic sales engagements with enterprise customers, with the ability to drive deals at scale.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure solutions and enterprise cloud sales motions.
  • Effective executive presence, emotional intelligence, and business acumen, with the ability to build and challenge senior customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop sales professionals, strengthening both individual performance and strategic deal execution.
  • Experience navigating complex enterprise sales cycles using a disciplined, mature sales approach.


Digital Solution Area Specialists M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,300 - $220,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $167,800 - $239,800 per year.
