As a Principal Associate Project Manager supporting the Capital One Cafe Marketing Team, you will lead critical marketing campaigns execution that directly impacts the company's bottom line. In this role, you will coordinate the development and execution of a diverse campaign portfolio, creating comprehensive project plans, managing dynamic timelines, and driving on-time delivery across broad, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, and execute complex, multi-workstream digital and OOH marketing project plans from Go-to-Market plans through to final deployment, ensuring deliverables meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements.
• Apply structure to both large- and small-scale initiatives, driving project execution based on defined priorities while demonstrating the organizational agility to adapt to changing demands.
• Proactively identify project risks, bottlenecks, and issues; develop mitigation strategies and independently escalate critical blockers when timelines are at risk.
• Partner closely with internal team and external partners, leveraging strong consulting and collaboration skills to provide both tactical direction and strategic thought partnership.
• Forge deep relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across all levels of the organization, using outstanding communication skills to manage expectations, inform teams, and influence outcomes.
• Facilitate the day-to-day traffic of creative assets through Legal, Risk, and Compliance reviews, ensuring feedback is documented, addressed by creative teams, and aligned with internal audit standards.
• Manage day-to-day campaign creative development and executional tasks for owned channels and paid media campaigns
• Develop socialization calendars to ensure buy-in is received from key stakeholders and leaders at critical decision points.
• Ensure appropriate approvals are received from key stakeholders
• Organize and maintain critical artifacts in campaign folders for audit
• Coordinate; lead and document critical project milestones, including kick-offs, stand-ups, timelines, retrospectives and the movement of assets between designers and channel managers, to ensure clear version control and team accountability.
• Own the weekly status reporting cadence, translating complex project updates into clear, concise summaries for the broader Capital One Cafe Marketing Team
• Maintain and scale team resources, process maps, and standard operating templates to ensure the department's "how-to" guides are always optimized and up to date.
• Lead external agency relationships to maintain Cafe Local Listing presence 

This Associate should bring: 

• Project or program management experience collaborating across broad groups of cross-functional stakeholders
• Attention to detail and ability to keep projects or programs on track and problem solve in real-time 
• Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication across varying functional groups and levels
• Ability to spot opportunities for process improvements & implement change that impacts teams outside of current scope 
• Strong facilitation skills, able to collaborate, plan, execute and follow-up on meetings at the team level
• Organized and able to self-manage details of multiple projects, deadlines and changing priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong and accurate work 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience  
• At least 5 years of Program or Project Management experience
• At least 3 years of experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban or SAFe methodologies
• At least 3 years of experience utilizing WorkFront 
• At least 3 years of agency relationship management experience
• At least 1 year of Paid Digital experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or MBA 
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
• 6+ years of Program or Project Management experience
• 6+ years of experience leading projects across cross-functional teams

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager

 

Wilmington, DE: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
