How you will make an impact:

The Senior Finance Manager role will provide Project Management and Change Management leadership on Cost Accounting and Operations Finance projects within the global finance projects team. Initially, this leadership role will lead project manage the Cost Accounting and Ops Finance workstream to divest the Microbiology Division (MBD), with a focus on S/4 Hana ERP transformation.  This role will collaborate with stakeholders in Finance, IT, Operations, and Product Data Management. Key project deliverables include enforcing global governance standards, ensuring standard costing excellence, driving best practice data governance standards across a complex, multi-plant matrixed environment, and enabling accurate OCOGS reporting.  After project completion this role will lead and collaborate on LSG, BPG, SDG, and/or AIG projects, but may also provide support to other Thermo Fisher Groups. This role will engage with finance leadership at group and division levels to ensure seamless execution of company, group, divisional and functional projects.

This position will report to the Director, Finance Projects.   

What you will do:

• Lead complex projects end-to-end — define objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, resources, timelines, and success criteria; drive execution through implementation and handover.
• Influence and partner with senior stakeholders - drive alignment across global teams to ensure successful execution of transformation objectives
• Drive finance transformation initiatives — lead improvements to finance processes, operating models, reporting, controls, automation, ERP systems, or other finance technology.
• Manage risks, issues, and dependencies — maintain RAID logs, identify potential delivery or financial risks early, establish mitigation plans, and escalate material issues.
• Project governance — maintain project documentation, manage change control, and ensure projects comply with organizational standards and controls.
• Provide executive reporting — prepare concise project status reports, dashboards, steering-committee materials, decision papers, and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Lead organizational change — assess impacts on finance teams and processes, support communications, training, adoption, readiness, and transition into business-as-usual operations.
• Ensure controls and compliance — collaborate to ensure that project delivery meets internal controls, audit requirements, accounting standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Lead project related change management including communication and training. 
• Assess and implement opportunities to use AI / machine learning / generative AI tools - to improve reporting efficiency, anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and insight generation.
• Support ad-hoc internal, group, and corporate requests - as needed.

How you will get here:

Education Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field Experience

• 8+ years relevant experience in finance
• Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values – Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation (The Four I’s)
• Project management experience
• Experience working in a global, matrixed environment preferred
• Strong team building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of customers in a global-matrixed environment
• Self-motivated; bias for action

Travel requirements

Less than 25% domestic/international travel required

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in is £65,300.00–£97,925.00.
