We are looking for a Manager for the Retail Bank’s Product Analytics team. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned practitioner who thrives in the weeds of data by applying decision science but operates with the strategic view to drive product growth. You will help shape product development, quantify new opportunities, and identify upcoming challenges. Your work will help partner teams prioritize what to build, set goals, and understand their impact. You will help drive product led growth by employing a varied toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different statistical methodologies, and frameworks to surface insights on new and exciting opportunities and challenges.

Your work will directly influence product direction, investment decisions, and the product vision for the Retail Bank. This is a highly collaborative role in which you will problem solve alongside partners and leadership in Product, Engineering, Research, Data, Finance, and others.

General Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Roadmap Influence: Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to identify high-leverage growth opportunities. Translate complex behavioral data and user funnels into actionable product recommendations and feature requirements.
• Experimentation & Causal Inference: Set methodological standards for product experimentation. Design, analyze, and interpret complex A/B/n tests using advanced statistical techniques (randomization, power calculations, variance reduction, quasi-experiments) to isolate true customer incrementality.
• Hands-On Technical Execution: Query, clean, and transform massive, complex datasets using SQL, Python, or R. Develop statistical models, user segmentation frameworks, and exploratory analysis to uncover engagement patterns.
• Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment: Drive alignment across cross-functional partners (Product, Tech, Research, Finance). Facilitate peer review gates to maintain rigorous analytical integrity and establish standardized KPI frameworks.
• Data Storytelling & Executive Communication: Synthesize multi-faceted data insights into clear, strategic narratives. Able to influence audiences beyond vanity metrics to focus on underlying customer value and long-term business impact.

Basic Qualifications:  

• At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering 

• 5+ years of experience in analysis 
• 2+ years of experience in financial services 
• 1+ year of experience in consulting 
• 2+ years of experience in people management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Business Manager

 

New York, NY: $179,700 - $205,100 for Business Manager

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
