Meet the Team

Empowering the world to reach its full potential, securely—that’s our vision. At Cisco Security, we help government organizations protect critical missions, essential services, and the people and communities they serve from an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape.

Our Capital Region team partners with high-profile government organizations and agencies across the region, including the U.S. Capitol, Department of Transportation, Department of the Interior, and other Federal Civilian entities responsible for delivering critical services and protecting sensitive information and infrastructure.

These customers operate in highly complex, regulated environments where cybersecurity, operational resilience, and mission continuity are essential. Cisco works alongside these organizations to modernize security architectures, strengthen cyber resilience, and securely enable digital transformation.

Your Impact

As a Security Account Executive aligned to Cisco’s Capital Region, you will drive Cisco Security growth across an assigned portfolio of Federal Civilian customers. You will build trusted relationships with agency leadership, develop a deep understanding of each customer’s mission and security priorities, and connect those needs to Cisco’s cybersecurity capabilities.

You will operate as a strategic security partner to customers responsible for critical government functions, helping them protect users, applications, networks, data, and infrastructure while navigating evolving threats and modernization priorities.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans across assigned Capital Region customers and agencies.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive, technology, cybersecurity, and operational leaders, including CIOs, CISOs, and other key decision-makers.

  • Identify opportunities to modernize security architectures and improve cyber and operational resilience.
  • Position Cisco’s Security portfolio against customer priorities including Zero Trust, secure access, network security, cloud security, threat detection and response, application security, and AI-driven security operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Cisco Account Managers, Security Specialists, Solutions Engineers, partners, and broader account teams to develop and execute comprehensive customer strategies.
  • Navigate complex federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, funding cycles, and multi-stakeholder buying environments.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline while consistently achieving or exceeding assigned sales objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of 5 sales experience, with 2+ years focused on cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, or related technology solutions.
  • Experience selling technology solutions into Federal Government, Federal Civilian, or other Public Sector organizations.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas in complex enterprise or public sector environments.
  • Experience managing sophisticated sales opportunities involving multiple technical, executive, procurement, and partner stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic territory and account plans.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling cybersecurity solutions including network security, cloud security, SASE/SSE, Zero Trust, XDR, application security, or identity-related technologies.
  • Existing knowledge of or relationships within Capital Region Federal Civilian accounts.
  • Familiarity with federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, government funding cycles, and partner-led go-to-market models.
  • Experience supporting customers responsible for critical government services, transportation, legislative operations, infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to engage credibly with both executive leadership and technical/security stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence with demonstrated success building long-term, trusted customer relationships.
