What You Will Achieve

The incumbent plays a vital role as a member of the Quality Environmental Control (EC) Laboratory team, actively engaging in efforts to elevate laboratory processes and outcomes. Under the guidance of the Environmental Monitoring (EM) Section Manager and supported by designated EM Shift Team Leaders, the incumbent is entrusted with systematic collection, thorough analysis, and careful inspection of environmental conditions across both laboratory and manufacturing settings. All work is conducted in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistency, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Duties extend to handling a wide range of sample types, including both physical and microbiological samples derived from air, surfaces, and water systems. The incumbent conducts qualitative, quantitative, and investigational assays on pharmaceutical waters, raw materials, and commodity items, exercising expert knowledge of environmental monitoring, aseptic technique, and microorganism handling. All analyses are performed in line with the requirements set forth by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory authorities, in addition to  A core aspect of the role is the meticulous comparison of results against established specifications, with comprehensive documentation maintained to uphold data integrity regulations. The incumbent is responsible not only for identifying and reporting any deviations from process or specification but also for communicating such findings promptly and accurately to relevant parties. This necessitates strong communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Beyond routine assignments, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the laboratory. This may involve initiating and developing project plans aimed at optimizing workflows, increasing efficiency, or enhancing compliance with best practices. Active participation in training sessions, consistent maintenance of precise records, and support for cross-functional teams are also essential components of the role, collectively ensuring that the laboratory operates at the highest standards of environmental and quality control.

Role Responsibilities:

Collecting Samples

Conducts routine environmental monitoring sampling of air, surface, and water sources within the laboratory and manufacturing areas. Sample types include both physical and microbiological for the purpose of further quality analysis. Aseptic technique will be utilized for sample collection as required per supplied standard operating procedures.

 

Conducts Assays

Accurately performs routine environmental monitoring analysis and processing of supplied samples according to provided standard operating procedures following aseptic techniques. Communicate effectively all basic technical issues, atypical or out-of-specifications test results, instrument malfunctions and methodology problems as they occur.

Analyses Results

Accountable for the accuracy and validity of testing results. Examines processed samples, both qualitatively and quantitatively, for the purpose of result interpretation and observation recording. Maintains accurate, complete, and legible records. May utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems or other electronic record systems.

 

Safety Practices

Contributes to the housekeeping and cleaning of the laboratory areas. Safely handles/disposes of chemicals, biological agents, and waste. Comply with all Safety, Environmental, and Security policies as required. Communicates all safety concerns, incidents, and events as they occur.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

• Applicant must have High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with 2 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree (preferably in Chemistry or other related science) with up to 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of basic microbiology, aseptic practices and/or environmental monitoring principles.  

Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):

• Skills training in effective laboratory testing methods and computerized record keeping.  
• Cleanroom Gowning and sampling experience - Aseptic practices

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work standing for extended time, walking, lifting and being able to work under highly paced environment. Able to communicate freely to keep up with sensitive timeline and engage with cross-functional teams.

• Position is a Rotating Day shift on a 2-2-3 schedule.
• Ability work on scheduled day even during public holidays and overtimes as directed or needed, Able to work off shift.

The salary for this position ranges from $21.02 to $35.04 per hour. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
